[quote=DoubleDown]i just don't think Gonchar is needed. i don't think the PP is most glaring issue on this team. i think overall defence is, and i think the best way to overcome that is by living through the growing pains of Beaulieu and Tinordi. we're 15 games into the season. there's no possible way the team could have made proper judgment calls on Beaulieu/Tinordi at this point. and i think that's why people don't like this deal. Travis Moen? who really gives a poop? ya, i know, he's signed next year. at a whopping $1.8 million.

as for you PP line ups, i can get behind them. only change i'd made is having Plekanec/Subban out as the first wave. because clearly, DD as the first wave does not work.

That 1.8m can 100% be a big deal! With Gallagher and Galchenyuk needing extensions (Galchenyuk can get quite the bonus being such a high pick, which he might hit, I don't know what they are). That extra money is the biggest plus of this deal, whatever Gonchar gives us is bonus imo

Say he is too old and can't play, then the kids are busy playing in Hamilton waiting for a chance. If it does work, then PP is fixed and we are still soft on blue line 5-on-5. Either way, it's a 10 month experiment, not a 3 or 4 year Kaberlol as you suggest.

I didn't mean it contract wise, I get he's only here for a year.

I just don't see Gonchar as the solution to our problems on the powerplay and it makes us weaker at 5 on 5.

The only good thing about this trade, to me, is the fact we get rid of Moen's contract.

yeah but at least we got a grizzled vet to show the young bucks like Markov, Weaver and Gilbert what it takes to be a pro.

Cuba's nice but the food sucks.

Mexico is also nice but the resorts are full of ... people like you I guess. I think there's the BPM festival during xmass. Diving off the coast is incredible.

RD is a nice party place but meh on the activities.

Have you looked into Belize ?

What the hell is going, bunch of twits?

Finish the season+1 more year of Moen or finish the season with Gonchar.

Honestly, who the (frank) cares?

They can put Weaver on waivers for all I care.
