Looks like Garth chose the right Blackhawk d-man too. Oduya hasn't been all that great

Leddy has been much better than I expected. Much.

Every team has those fans that bash every player after they leave because if they leave their favorite team they can't be good. Trust me lots of their fans aren't bashing them just the idiots

Pretty funny how the trolls were nowhere to be found until the 3 game losing streak and now they have disappeared again

You're not exactly talking about the cream of the intelligence crop...so of course they're hiding.

I actually enjoyed one of the last sabres threads where your posters were ripping on one of said trolls for posting stupid crap. It's nice to see I'm not alone reading his stuff lol.

It's been kind of "funny" lately that 2 of the trolls you guys have seen have actually posted in the Sabres threads recently...

We have quite the drama in our threads...it gets ridiculous.

I've stayed away from those for the most part because the rest of your guys have been good to talk to and I don't want to ruin that truce.

I'm happy to see Nick doing well for you guys. There was (and still is) a group-think within the Hawks posters that believe Leddy is only a pretty skater with some o skills and not much else.

When Stan Bowman picked him up (seemingly as an afterthought) in trade, not much was made other than he was the MN hs hockey player of the year and college didn't agree with him (not smart enough was the general rap posited in the threads).

I saw him from ice level (sat row in back of Hawks bench) early on when Hawks were playing in Columbus. Now mind you I have played since young (let's say around a half-century) and made it through jr A myself. Have seen a lot of players -- and have skated with some recently retired NHLers. Haven't seen anyone skate like Leddy -- and watched his ability to close gaps on guys as one of the biggest advantages he had. Seems able to slice through other teams when he rushes the puck like a hot knife through butter -- and the Hawks DO miss that ability. No one else on the club has that skill.

Hope he continues to thrive there for you guys.

I love jiggs but are you kidding me? He was calling kulemin and conacher grabovski all night
- Cptmjl

They all wear number 80-something. For walking in cold once a year, he's pretty good with new players& #'s. I just like the way he calls the game action. Doesnt sound like he aged a minute. Called most of the Avs players correctly too. Was watching Rags/Oilers other night. Sam & Joe were silent at times while edm had the puck and only chimed back in when Rangers got the puck back.

Case in point: Philly fans speak highly of AMac & Streit.

Yes but we ripped those two (amac much more than streit) for more than one year as islanders, and then once gone. No one was giving amac any love the last two years here and rightly so, he was a disaster. If philly likes them, good on them.

Why do you think that?
- eichiefs9

Actually tough to call anyone up without waiving a roster player but their top scorers may see the Island if injuries. Also have a couple of big kids that may be physical enough for fourth line duty. But probably unlikely right now. If BRI can stay near the top some of the kids may be in for an exciting playoff run. Reinhart's jr championship experience could figure in for BRI or the Isles.

True everyone pushes for them to see the NHL but every organization has solid prospects.

Hmm.. Kane, Subban, Ho-Sang...I'm seeing a trend with these players that have perceived "bad attitudes"..........

I'm not exactly following this.

I was just saying that the media sure loves to take a story line and run with it. Kane takes a picture during the lockout with a stack of money in Vegas and all the sudden he's the devil.

If I made that kind of money in my early 20's I'd be willing to be I did something a whole hell of a lot stupider than that with my money.

- eichiefs9

Kane's issue is that Winnipeg has convinced itself that he doesn't want to be there, and every benign quote he makes gets twisted into him implying he wants to leave. It'll get to the point where he really does want to leave badly, and they won't even realize they're the ones who pushed him out. He made some quote maybe a season or two ago that he's tired of not being the playoffs...with the context being he was training hard and was determined to get the team in the postseason that year. It was twisted to mean he wanted to be traded.

The stack of money...the thing was doing that at a time when both sides were lobbying hard for public support. It would have been like one of the owners posting a video of himself lighting cigars with hundred-dollar bills at that time. Bad optics at the wrong time.

Yeah that wasn't directed at you. You know ur hockey. He has been surprisingly good in his own end so far. What I like about his points so far is that they have all come at even strength

they're gonna have to since cappy doesn't seem willing to give him more than 20 seconds of pp time per game lol

Leddy has been very impressive so far in his own end and has picked his spots to rush quite well.

No worries, I didn't think it was

The Chicago contingent has been spoiled -- but IMO huge mistake hanging on to Rozsival (36 yr old wheels) and Oduya (going on 34). All the talk was Oduya taking a "hometown discount" so they could re-sign him (last yr of contract this yr). My take: they will launch him at or right before trade deadline because it doesn't look the Cap is going up and they won't be able to keep him even at a reduced rate.

Being close with Tavares, I hope the Isles land Kane. Scorers with his potential do not become available all too often. I would part with Reinhart, and either Bailey or Grabner. Having Kane helping to increase scoring will only help guys like Boychuk and leddy re sign, and it will help attract other FA's when needed.

Why trade Reinhart right as he's getting very close to nhl ready? Big shutdown defensemen who can play 20 minutes a night are worth way more than a 50-60 point winger who gets hurt a lot. I don't even look at Kane until we've tried Lee, Strome, grabovski or Nelson on the top line and figure none of them work. Kulemin is fine there for now because he makes that line less of a liability defensively. Not interested in Kane, unless its Patrick.

Agreed. Would love Kane on Tavares' line, but not for what it would probably cost. We can come up with all sorts of trade proposals that leave key players/prospects off the table, but that wouldn't get it done. They're not moving Kane for Grabner and Bailey, or whatever.

I really think we have better options then Kane already with the franchise.
