Hmm.. Kane, Subban, Ho-Sang...I'm seeing a trend with these players that have perceived "bad attitudes"..........

Twitter blew up with the #wordswithbutchie contest. People all tweeting stuff he has to say on the air. I am not so sure he found it as funny.

This is my concern as well. I like what we have right now and don't really see the need to add Kane. I don't think the price would be reasonable.
- Isles_since_6

Yep, cost is something that was discussed with Sabres fans too. Much like talk of people calling about Myers, I assume anyone looking to get Kane will have to wow the Jets.

With the team playing well and possible return of Grabner and Bailey, don't think we will see a move. Also think some of the forwards as well as D from BRI may come up.

What Bridgeport forwards do you feel are pushing into the big clubs line up?

The ironic part was the Avs were making all the mistakes that usually cost the Isles. Everyone going to puck instead of covering a man. giving way too much room to Isles in Avs D-zone... Tons of poor decisions..etc.
- niteislander

....especially standing around, watching Isles players come out from behind the net with the puck- that was what was making me think that if I was the goalie, I would have smacked one of them in the back of the head with the flat part of the stick. I watched Matt Martin spin one of them around and move toward the net from the side with the puck at least three times- just basically held his man off and blew past him, like he was posting up with a basketball....I was thinking that instead of a player's name, they should just print the word "useless" on the back of the sweater, to let the goalie know.

On our side, here's an example of the improvement- there was one play where in a sequence in front of the net, Hamonic was on the wrong side of the forward. He immediately jammed through to the other side and took away that option from the player with the puck. Just seeing that made me realize that these guys are finally starting to get what needs to be done to win hockey games.

I watched some of the Sabres and the Blues. Your goalie was good but they just got bent over on the PK at the end. I do feel bad for you guys having to watch that regularly. Been there and it blows.

Just remember that the Sabres have 11 national appearances on NBC Sports and the Islanders were scheduled for zero.

We got the Sharks game flexed to NBC Sports last minute.

11 national appearances for a team that is on pace to score 91.84 goals over the course of an 82 game season.

It's those ot loss points too. Ottawa should be a below 500 team but thanks to those points they're only two back of us. Hate those points. Keeps everything way too close.
- Isles_since_6

To me, the game should just end in a draw, like it used to- just do what they do in soccer....3 points for a win, 1 for a tie....that way if a team thinks they're going to play for a tie every night, after 20 games they're 40 points behind the team that wins them, instead of 20. The only alternative to that for me is to just play OT until someone wins, which isn't feasible during the NHL regular season.

All that other stuff they do is bush league nonsense- they might as well just have one guy from each team put his stick down on the ice, and then put his head on top of the hockey stick and spin around in circles, then try to skate to the goal line without falling on his ass....first guy who makes it wins the game for his team. Or maybe a hot dog eating contest...it's equally ridiculous to what they do now, in my opinion.

Well, we ALREADY have 10 wins, which is 5 more than we usually have by the END of November...

I turned it off after the 2nd period. Glad I did.

Neuvirth has been a pleasant surprise. I've been a big Enroth fan. His numbers aren't as good this season, but the bigger number against him is Goals For when he's in net....the scrubs never give him goal support.

Thank the ratings for that, I guess. Buffalo is always listed as a top 3 (typically) ratings fetcher for those networks.

Yes, but what would it COST?

My thought re: Winnipeg in general is that they would want something of equivalent talent (maybe not quite as developed) that can at least somewhat help right now. In our case, if I knew for certain I was going to sign Boychuk, I could easily part with Reinhart and Grabner, plus a lesser item or two in order to get a player like Kane on board, as long as I was convinced that the off ice shenanigans were a product of youth and a thing of the past. Unfortunately, I just have this feeling that the first two words out of the Jets' GM's mouth would be "Brock Nelson", which is not going to happen, period....

Leddy and Boychuck were a huge need. Just do not get the same feeling for a Kane deal. Rather Isles not make any big moves right now.

Looks like Garth chose the right Blackhawk d-man too. Oduya hasn't been all that great

Agreed- unnecessary. Just saying that I would low ball them as much as possible IF I was going to make an offer.....obviously, you'd have to give them SOMETHING (Reinhart, for example), but I'd try to limit it to that. Let the Flyers give them three top shelf guys that will help them win a Cup five years from now, in exchange for what might turn out to be a perpetually petulant malcontent- the Flyers are quite good at adding the needed pieces to someone else's puzzle...

Hard to fault either of your goalies with that roster.
