Love the fire from KO, but let's not pretend the Islanders have been a great team and the media has taken unfair shots. - ses111
He was joking with them. Saidman tweeted directly after that "For the record, Kyle was smiling and that statement was in jest. He was just having some fun with us" |

I haven't been able to watch the last few games. Are they playing like they did at the end of the season when JT was hurt? It sounds like it. - David_Volek
Kinda apples & oranges when you have 2 legit Goalies, 2 legit Dmen and 2 legit Fwds that werent a part of the team at the end last season.
From watching on TV, the ice seemed like it was in bad shape. Avs were mishandling pucks all over the place, WHICH should be a part of the Isles home advantage, since they play on crappy ice all the time.
Great Butchie gaffes included: calling Leddy "Liddy" (cause Butch remembers Watergate) and describing a passing play as "Tick-TOCK-Toe." Jiggs is still awesome and knows the teams & players like he still does this job for a living. Makes Sam Rosen sound like an amateur. |

Always, from October until the middle of January. The problem is that sh*tty ice does not provide an advantage, especially for a young, fast hockey club. They should probably just open the doors once it gets cold out, like 80 years ago. Another reason why I can't wait to get to the new crib....the ice machine, along with everything else, needed to be replaced 20 years ago... |

I would describe it as a ribbing. I don't think he said it without reason. It's only Saidman saying it was in jest. While he said it in a good natured way, I'm sure there was a certain amount of honesty to it. |

Understandable reaction. I was like these guys do not understand the Islanders have not exactly been a good team recently. |

Whatever. We're 10-5 and have won four straight. |

The Crappy thing about all this is that we're 10-5 and only a few points ahead of what, 13th in the conference? The encouraging part of this is that we continue to get better and after October history shows very few teams in a playoff position miss. |

It's always like that in November.....before a bunch of teams start losing 10 and 12 games in a row.....the good news is I don't think we're going to be one of those teams this year.....finally..... |

Yeah, I'm guessing his problem is that he is spending too much time with Butch, and the beverage cart keeps disappearing empty, and arriving fully stocked.... |

He also called Erik Johnson "Mike Johnson" once or twice.
I wish they'd get King to do the games. He's great.
edit: You can't beat this gem from 'Ol Butchie though.

It's those ot loss points too. Ottawa should be a below 500 team but thanks to those points they're only two back of us. Hate those points. Keeps everything way too close. |

Exactly. The only telecast available to me last night was Colorado. What was funny was I thought the islanders got new broadcasters. Peter McNabb said after the game the islanders out worked Colorado every shift, the whole game. Really was a great team effort last night - Isleshockeyman
The ironic part was the Avs were making all the mistakes that usually cost the Isles. Everyone going to puck instead of covering a man. giving way too much room to Isles in Avs D-zone... Tons of poor decisions..etc. |

The point was they never get a fair shake in the press and it is valid. My thoery has always been most in the media grew up during the Isles 80's run and they still hate them for it... and I am sticking with that theory. |

Garth Snow on Ho-sang.. "They sht on me too. He'll fit right in... " The perception is Us against the world in that locker room and I think it helps gel the team. |

It's true the Isles did not get the respect they deserved from the dynasty. Still, the Isles have given the press plenty of ammo over the last 20 years. |

They had a stat up last night where the Isles have an insane record when he is announcing in the past 2 seasons. Keep him on the air!! It was like 17-1-3 or something. |
