Lines at practice today:

86-91-21
12-51-84
29/89-18-27
17/36-53-15

If Bailey goes, Conacher and Boulton would be the obvious scratches. Kid line stays, Bailey goes with Frans/Grabo and Clutterbuck goes back where he belongs.

Capuano must be starting to get it. I like those lines, Clutterbuck has hurt Nielson and grabovski, he just doesn't pass. Like, ever.

Well in fairness the hole in the lineup due to Bailey's absence created a bit of a problem. Now that he's (just about) ready to return, everything kinda falls into place. This is the way the roster should look. No Conacher, no Boulton. Lee in. I'm excited to see where it goes.

We're so much deeper everywhere than last year that it does make it much more enjoyable to watch. JT needs a couple multipoint games soon though. I'd like to see kyle put a few in as well. Depth is nice to have but I want that line to get going.

They will, I'm not worried. It's great not having to worry about that. Panthers are hopefully a team they can get it kickstarted against. They need to be working coming up on this hellacious run of back-to-backs we have coming up.

Look for me and my son in Tampa, we will both have on Tavares stadium series jerseys and will be by the tunnel for warmups.

Quiet well... Have they announced who is starting for the Av's?
Cuz Varlamov didn't look good Tuesday night, seemed to be fighting the puck.

He doesn't even skate with the puck. He just shoot immediately, no matter where he is or how useless the shot.

I know Bailey had a good start, but I'm still skeptical. I really hope he can pick up where he left off and play that way all year long. However, he's known for disappearing for long stretches during the season. So his good play for 7 games hasn't sold me yet.

I would think the package would be Strome, Reinhart and Lee for Kane....

I would think that if Dinglebury was still our GM.....luckily, the one we have now has a human brain.

I thought Conacher looked really good on the fourth line last game. I'd try 89-53-15 and scratch Martin...just for a game and see if it works. If nothing else it would be the most annoying line in hockey to play against.

If it wasn't for him, they'd have given up at least 10....you'd look like you were fighting the puck too if they were being fired at you out of a machine gun. The second goal was his brain fart, but the rest of that was on the defense.

I have been a proponent of giving Martin some time in the press box, but I thought he picked up his game against Colorado..........not just the usual hitting, but also screening the goalie, something the Isles often don't do enough.

Like I said, I see Viz and the team parting ways. But regardless, if he's not injured he still carries plenty of value. What, I personally think, is likely to happen is that he'll be searching out one final multi-year deal around his current salary and the Isles will only be offering one year at a reduced rate. That's why I think he's going to walk, he's going to be in search of either one final payday or one last shot at a Cup.

Frankly, I won't be upset if he re-signs for a year OR if he walks. A multi-year deal is the only thing I hope they avoid.

- eichiefs9

Agreed....he's getting to be too old and brittle.

One of snows better qualities is getting players signed to great reasonable contracts. Have to give credit where its due. Hopefully that remains true.
- Cptmjl

Boychuk, Nielsen and Okposo will get paid. The rest aren't too much of a concern, IMO.

I'd love to see Martin scratched but it won't happen
