Personally I think they needed this shellacking to wake them up and learn from it, especially this early in the season. It'll test MJ and they can look at it on tape, learn from their mistakes. |

Penguins tie their season high regulation losing streak.... Let's burn it down and start over. |

TRADE MARIO!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. "The sky is falling, THE SKY IS FALLING"
1 power play goal against in forever.
Best power play in the league.
One of the deepest defenses.
7 and 1 in the last 8.
Losses happen. Take a Ritalin.

You don't have to be a Fleury hater or lover to realize this guy just doesn't win or play well in the tough games. His performance the last five years including last year in the tough games was hardly worth an extension. But wait he's a fan favorite and Sid likes him. He is also a favorite in the locker room so he gets a raise and four more years of watching this team make an early exit in the playoffs. - Vegasman
If you think that the loss to the Rangers in the playoffs was Fleury's fault and tonight was as well then you need to quit drinking. They lost in the playoffs because they high touted offense dried up in the four games that they could have eliminated the Rangers.
As for tonight the entire team was crap. Fleury was left on his own. |

It's funny.... Fleury could win 10 straight and guys like that poster are nowhere to be found, but one bad loss (his fault or not), and they resurface like a toad after a rainstorm.

This should just be a wake up call. Gotta earn every game, didn't work hard enough for this one. Put it behind us and work harder for the next one. |

Can we go ahead and give the Rangers that disputed goal, and save a referee gift for a game when we'll need it? |

How about trade Paul Martin to San Jose for Tommy Wingels and a 2nd then trade that 2nd, a Pens 3rd plus Craig Adams for Drew Stafford from Buffalo? They can both play with Malkin, better than Comeau and Dupuis and Crosby's line can't score 90% of the goals for 82 games. Need to do something, not much but something. |

It's not Fleury's fault we are losing tonight. The team as a whole disappears when the opponent starts to play a physical/griding game. - Barnaby36
I didn't say it was Fleury's fault persay, He's just really shaky in these type of games and the rest of the team follows suit. Greis is just better under pressure. Fleury is the guy against the western conference for sure. |

Are you talking about his 40 career NHL playoff minutes in mop up duty, his 6-9 career AHL playoff record, or his 0-4 Olympic record?
C'mon.... I like Greiss, but don't just make stuff up. |

Not sure San Jose trades a cheaply signed Wingels for a rental d-man and adds a pick. They might send Old Boy back with him instead |

It's hard to say any Penguin played anywhere near their capability. Bad night for us, good for them. I'd pull Fleury, what reason is there to leave him in there? - powerhouse
Because he makes 80 thousand dollars per game... |

Have you noticed there is a premium on top 4 defenceman right now and san jose has to believe they can resign martin. Both teams need a change, one has too many forwards on has too many defenceman. |

How did I make stuff up? I just have to use my eyes. In the 4 games Greis has played this year, thats all I need to get an idea of when he would be a better choice. |

Straight up the value probably isnt too far off. Another decent tweener....like McGinn. Rather try to get a pure top 6 winger though and I think that only happens with Martin for picks prospects..then use those assets with our other prospects/expendable pieces for the winger we need.
I was pissed watching Kevin Hayes out there tonight. Not because he was especially good...just that he was a free pick up and I'm greedy. |

Two preseason games, a blown 2 goal lead in Detroit, and good showing in Minn is all it took? |

Yeah Stafford is the pure top 6 guy in those deals. You get 2 talented forwards for 1 talented defenceman, you get rid of craig adams and don't increase your cap hit, and give or take a piece they are realistic moves. The 4th line becomes Spalling, goc and Comeau, thats finally good depth across all 4 lines and it gives the team a chance to audition the WBS guys to see who is going to take martins place. |

Oh my god you're right, yeah Comeau and Dupuis are really making Malkin look fantastic, how many points does that line have again? And keeping adams around is just good business! |

Still have my hopes high we can poach someone young with some pedigree. Maybe unrealistic. But to get a guy like Nichsucksingisgin from Dallas, Ritchie, Nino, Jurco, Tatar, Palat from TB, Noesen, etc for Martin + would be highway robbery in the long term. Most of those guys are on teams that need defense and also are pretty stacked on offense. Lots of those guys are stuck down on 3rd or 4th lines wth their current teams...with a few exceptions of course. |
