Ritchie or Richardinson would be interesting gets for Martin. Even if they aren't NHL ready, a good forward prospect in the system would be nice. Save $5M in cap space to make room for anyone we want to bring in.

Plus, at the end of the day its just an asset, you could then flip them with other prospects picks to pick up an NHL ready winger from a non-contender.

Still think that Martin for Nino deal is one of the best deals out there for both sides. They traded Clutterbuck for Nino and I'm fairly certain they'd be ok trading Clutterbuck for Martin....if the algebra transitive property applies to hockey...haha.

Other thoughts on this, Martin saying he is willing to talk contract extensions could mean he doesnt want to make it look like he wants out and cripple his trade value.

I'd be too...in the start of the season...but since both are playing well enough, I see no reason to take them out just like that.
