Hartnell with 2 more goals tonight, but the BJs are 4-9-1 now.

i'm fine with him being gone. i just wish umberger didn't suck so bad. i really thought he had a lot more left in the tank.

Umberger was terrible. Had a nice chance late, but how he gets 15+ minutes is ridiculous

Akeson didn't play well. No issue with him seeing fewer minutes.

Akeson played badly. You aren't going to see growth from a kid playing him 5 minutes a game, when he gets to play every 5th one. Berube has to go. I don't even want them to wait until the end of the year.

Its (frank)ing brutal.

I got some questions about the guy, but don't forget Schenn had to serve five for fighting; Lecavalier got some of his PP time and got the assist off it

Don't get me wrong: I absolutely feel you on what you're getting at. But Schenn is explainable

Umberger, however, is not

I know the initial reaction will be lazy 3rd period, and that's true for some players, but there was effort from certain players throughout. I didn't see lack of effort from Giroux, B Schenn, Voracek, or (though some might disagree just for reasons of personal dislike) Rinaldo.

Players who looked like garbage in the 3rd: Simmonds, Schultz, and VL to name a the most egregious. Really though, take away the terrible turnovers by Grossman and Umberger and this game's still a cake walk. BTW, Umberger needs to be healthy scratch against Columbus.

P.S. A win is a win. No one will care how at the end of the year.

Edit: forgot some key words. shows me for posting drunk.

Truthfully? I did. I thought he skated a little better last year -- I could see the hands were going, and he was banged up, but I thought he moved a little better

I can freely admit when I'm wrong, and if tonight is all Umberger's bringing to the table, then I might as well clear my throat and say it

i don't think he played poorly. and with those kind of minutes and getting stuck with saddle bags isn't going to help. there is zero justification for umberger getting those kind of minutes.

He had a few moments where he was playing a bit too loose with the puck for my taste. I don;t think he was as effective as he was vs the Panthers.

Linemates ddidn;t help, especially after he got moved to the Walking Dead line

Anyway, a good and fun game.

Great to see Couturier and bSchenn growing in front of our eyes. Consistency will be the key. As goes for MDZ.

Long term there is far too much dead weight with LeCavalier, Umberger, and what will inevitably be of Streit.

Berube will stick as long as they are competitive and winning, but I really hope Hextall and company aren't happy when they look at his body of work.

Good night and good hockey hooligans.

Umberger was beyond terrible tonight. The game he played tonight should be enough to get him scratched
