Most have the issue with the blame going on Zads for ramming his face into the glass.

For those of you who missed it (including Garth and Michael Pachla) - Kypreos assessment showed video replay of Zadorov twice looking and seeing Sekac coming towards him. The second time he looked (when Sekac was already crossed the goal line) he lost track of the puck. This is when Zadorov turned his body so he was not in proper position to absorb/take the incoming check. True, Sekac should have tried to minimize contact, but when you are skating in at speed, like Kypreos pointed out, it is extremely difficult to stop.

While Sekac did hit Zadorov in a vulnerable position, there is no way for him to foresee a last second turn by the player.

For the record, if this were to happen to PK, I would probably instinctively react the same way the broadcasters and Sabres nation did. But before posting anything like Garth did, I would take my bleu blanc au rouge glasses off (or in his case, blue and gold glasses) and take a good look at WHAT REALLY HAPPENED .

This coming from the fanbase that wanted to press criminal charges against Zdeno Chara for his hit on Max Pacioretty.

Look, whether the player turned or not is irrelevant in this situation. You can't hit a guy in the back, period. That's how the rule is written. Might Zadorov be a little bit culpable? Possibly. I think the issue here is that it didn't even get a review from the league. It was immediately dismissed. If this is the type of hit and injury that the league is serious about getting rid of, they can't ignore issues like this, even if they simply come out with an explanation as to why there is no suspension.

So by your deep, insightful logic, all Habs fans think on-ice plays warrant law enforcement actions.

Gotcha

Kypreos' logic doesn't make any sense. If Zadorov had to turn and look from that angle, his back was already to the player. Zadorov probably could have protected himself better, but if he had to turn and look to see if he was coming (which he did), then he couldn't have been facing the player.

Actually, if we win. We could force an EDM coaching change which could propel them to some victories down the road, thus in the long run making them no threat to McDavid.......

Did I just blow your mind?

Funny How Eakins was such a hot commodity not too long ago . I really think it has become a nasty culture in Edmonton . It comes all the way down . Starting with the owner .

They pulled what a lot of us thought Buffalo would with the MacTavish hire. Flames and Sabres went out and brought in good hockey minds from outside the organization but the Oilers decided to re hire a guy who was originally their version of nolan (rebuild fall guy) as a hockey ops vp and then move him to GM.

Side note, Eakins predecessor Ralph Kreuger has become sort of folk hero around these parts for his work at Southampton FC

Have you ever played hockey??

The proper positioning to take a check is not facing the player, is to turn your shoulder and hip into the incoming player. Zadorov was in this position until he lost sight of the puck and turned away from the player exposing his back to Sekac.

You really do need to watch the play, and know hockey, before you respond

I have played the game, and still play the game (albeit at a low men's league level now). However, this isn't about having played the game. This is about having a 9th grade concept of physics, which Kypreos doesn't seem to have (assuming he actually said what it was claimed he said here...I didn't see the segment).
