Would you rather have less commercials with jersey advertisements or more commercials with no jersey advertisements?
- PhillySportsGuy

i would choose the former in this hypothetical, but in reality, if this were to happen, it would only decrease to 2 commercials instead of 3 per period, and that is not enough of a change for me to tolerate jersey advertising. if the commercials were 30 second spots the way they used to be back in the 80s, it would be fine, but these are 2 minute breaks.

I'd like someone to take Umberger away from that line.
- jmatchett383

I'd like someone to send Umberger to Calgary, or Edmonton or basically anywhere but here.

Carter Ashton suspended 20 games for PEDs

It's bullpoop, but if it's forbidden, it's forbidden. I don't know what the substance list is, but a whole bunch of the most common inhalants for something like asthma are steroids. Pulmicort, flovent, advair....all corticosteroids.

EDIT: I wonder how that works? Could you be except from the league's policy for a drug if you have a prescription or something?

I wish I could have been around for this. I have no patience for commercials. I have missed important moments in games because I can't stand sitting through them.

Yeah, it was cool. There were no artificial time outs, they just squeezed in 30 second commercial here and there and left most of it for between periods.

I'm going to do it eventually. My friend went with his girl on her birthday. He said it's actually very nice.

I've always gone to a hair salon as well, so I don't care about that stuff.

You better believe if they had some PED to make me better at my job, I'd be taking handfuls of it.

Thats kind of what it's like for AHL games. Although, in AHL games they cut away from live action for the weirdest poop.

Yeah, but taking a drug that makes you better at your job is a different situation than taking a drug so you can live to go do your job in the first place.

it was great. no ads on the boards, no blaring 'entertainment' during whistles. it was just a (frank)ing hockey game with some organ music now and then. quick commercials, they seemed almost invisible.

my issue with the 3 per period, despite having some rules in place like not going to one when there's been a stoppage due to icing etc, is that it destroys the pace of the game, especially if one team has momentum. i could handle 2 per period, but 3 really is too much. it's just too (frank)ing much.

I don't care where a guy gets his hair cut, but really, a pedicure??

What's next, bikini waxing?
