Actually Giroux is the leading scorer in the NHL over the past 4 seasons. I think Giroux would have a hard time producing 5 on 5 without a winger like Voracek. There is'nt any other options outside of Simmonds to play on that line and expect much out of.

That makes me sad. You're saying we have three reliable scoring forwards on the roster and I believe it's true.

Can either of them do it with out a competent center or wing respectively?
- mayorofangrytown

IMO, the way Jake is playing currently, yes he could; however, I don't know if he'll be able to keep his current level of play up. Jake is a boarderline elite level talent in the NHL when he puts everything together, as illustrated by the start of the early season.

I think it's a no brainer with G.

I actually think Voracek would help Couts or Vinny and that would be a productive line. Giroux needs players to set up. While Voracek just carries the play all by himself. Giroux absolutely needs more support.

I think he's been elite for the past 1.5 - 2 seasons and he's just now starting to get recognized because his traditional stats are showing it.

He has hit another gear this year as he has taken over games at times. Its something special to watch.

It's a minor miracle that MDZ has pulled back to 50%... after all that poop luck he had early on, and playing w/ Luke and all.
- Tomahawk

Del Zotto's subpar play in early games also contributed to that.

If it were me, Vinny would be on the 4th line. If he's as good as everyone says he is, he should feist on other team's 4th lines....

I want Couts to see more offensive responsibilities. I think there's a lot of untapped potential there especially with his size. Him and Voracek on a line together may be a lot to handle for opposing teams.

I don't agree with that. Both players make other players around them better.

Also, and I think it's been stated, Read would be a good option to play with G. In a primarly defensive role, he scored 22 goals last year with Couts as his center. W

Vinny has to be the 2C. He is the 2nd best offensive center we have and the only one that will produce. Couts just isnt getting it done

That's crazy talk. I wouldn't trade him for third. He represents flexibility in the line up which IMHO is worth way more then a third. You seriously think a team having problems scoring goals wouldn't trade a third for him?
- coffee junkie

Carzy talk is that you wouldn't. What flexibily does he proide. He is a 13th -14th forward. We could fill his roll. I think anyone would take a 3rd rounder for him
