Perron would make some sense on the 1st line. Who would be going the other way?
The Oilers need centers. The Isles have center depth but they aren't trading JT, Nielsen, Nelson, Strome or Grabovski, and the Oilers ain't trading Perron for Cizikas. - Snowblind
The Logical choice would be Perron for Leddy and Harmonic.

its easy to look back at 20 plus years of complete and massive suckage, it is not easy to look forward to for any amount of time of the future.

So youre saying capuano for better or worse? - Cptmjl
I agree there is parity in the Metro and hell there is parity in the whole league, that's what caps are supposed to do. With that being said what will make your team better than the next if the talent on most of the teams are similar????
You guessed it COACHING !
Get a real NHL coach with a winning track record to run this team! |

I agree. While youre at it get a real NHL gm to recognize the importance of what you just said. |

If hes replaced with a real coach it'd pay immediate dividends imo. |

the chances of that are so slim, we lose happy, we are getting Weight or someone else already in the Wang/Snow inner circle of trust.

WOO HOO another forward. Where would they fit him?? - kasperrko
Standing in front of the net, screening the goalie, about 15 feet away from the shooter, trying to figure out how to block the shot without actually getting hit by the puck......you know, like the rest of the forwards.... |

I can't stand cappy, but I also can't stand watching this great franchise I've followed since I was 6 keep losing and missing the playoffs. It just sucks the enjoyment out of me. I'm going to watch and hope they win tonight. The red light has been a bit quiet lately, I need to see it go off 3-4 times tonight |

I could accept several alternatives to Cappy. Weight, tho lacking head coaching experience, at least has nearly 20 yrs as an nhl'er. That alone puts him leaps & bounds ahead of Cappy in the "obvious things an NHl coach should do" (common sense to the layman). I would hope Garth doesn't do this in the event but hard to argue he could actually be worse. Weight would be in the face of guys when they f'ed up but still a players' coach. Bylsma should be in consideration or everything Garth has done rightthis year will be for naught. |

You'll need to see it go off at least 4-5 times if they have a chance at winning. |

I don't buy that. A great player doesn't necessarily make a good coach and vise versa. I'm not saying Weight would be a bad coach - I have no idea. I think he would be better than Crappy (then again in think a sack of hammers would be better than Crappy). I'd rather go with a proven guy, but I'll take Weight. |

I'm going off script and predicting a 4-2 victory tonight. Kulemin with an empty net goal, Tavares, Strome, leddy with the Isles goals |

I'm kinda liking the Sack of Hammers idea. The post game interviews would be more insightful. Plus how great would it be to tell Crappy everyone thought a bag containing assorted bludgeoning tools would do a better job matching lines.

We'll see. You could be right - they are down to 26th in the league in goals against per game at 3.4. Some other teams must be getting lit up! Of course the PK is still last at 63.9%. |

Fan of strome. Hes going to put it together soon I feel(if hes playing with some decent line mates consistently)and when he does its going to be a big boost for this club. Happy to see him playing with some talent tonight. |

Tonight they look better. Hope he sticks with something close to this till bailey and grabs come back then clutter to the fourth line and Boulton in the line up only when needed. |

Agreed, although the funny thing about Boulton..... the Isles somehow seem to play better when he's playing. I think I remember reading late last season that the Isles' record when they dressed Boulton was much better than when he was scratched. Butchie alluded to it last night that the game is a little easier for the skill guys when they know someone's got their back. |
