I just don't get this theory that because Akeson has better puck skills he is a better fit then VDV on the top line. There are plenty of line around the NHL that have two skill guys and maybe a mucker or grinder or someone who does the dirty work for them. Getzlaf and Perry have played with Maroon and Beleksy, the sedins with Burrows and kassian, Zetterberg with Holmstrom. I am not saying VDV is any of these guys but he might be a better fit.

No, those are Fleury's sickening eyes rolling over after blowing another lead. In a stupid throwback-style helmet. Damn it.

Those 3 goals vs. NYI are 3 of the worst goals I've ever seen. But that's what he's talking about, he just does the stupidest things at the worst times.

It's like having Scott Hartnell, in goalie form.

Out for the day as heading to work, if you are a fan of Berube that's on you.

I think he is a moron that should be out on his ass sucking on paint cans.

Pretty hard to counter that well thought out and articulate post.

The first one is the funniest. I don't even think he realizes the goal is to his left and not directly behind him.

No, I'm really pretty sure that that game was the game in which voracek got the game winner late. That was vokoun in net. (unless someone has photoshopped it or whatever). but if its the game im thinking of, it had voukun in net, and the goal was more of a defensive breakdown that utter goalie gaffe.

I've got a Joffrey Lupul story involving "Don't you know who I am."

Mike Richards and Lupul were driving around with these 2 hot broads. They ended up going to a party that was...well, rowdy.

A bit into the party, Richards and his girl decide to go upstairs for some private time. Lupul tries to get his girl to go upstairs and she declines, so he yells at her, "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?" and she basically laughed at him and walked away.

You're also missing the Game 2 winner than Okposo scored from the corner.

Edit: Didn't realize the 3rd one was from CBJ. Thought they were all from the NYI series.

and thats what i mean. okay, even if he finishes that game with a 918 save percentage or whatnot, it doesnt matter. those are the types of things that take the wind out of a teams sales.

(frank) the numbers. you simply just cant have those things in playoff time.

which brings me back to, have your negotiations in june. unless old man rutherford didnt think hed be alive then.

You gotta give Berube a break there though. The team had been so used to playing pond hockey under Lavy that it was pretty much basic instinct to tighten things up.
- KGBflyers10

What I'd like to know is if they didn't start scoring until Berube "opened it up". Why weren't they scoring under Laviolette? Which is about as wide open as it can get.

oh yeah. thats a good one.

that might actually be the case. he did get a brinksload of money from them. but he did actually have a few years where he played.

i think that would be a close mathematical call. good name drop.

It needs to be partially opened for optimal results. Too open and everybody tries to go through at once, and get stuck in the door frame.

fair enough to me.

but still. the statement presented to me was that luke schenn is an infinitely better defenseman than gus.

that much, is hard for me to buy.

and no, i dont want a retort from anyone of oh well you dont have to buy it. one of them is in the NHL for X number of games and the other one is in europe.

- stayinthefnnet

It isn't that Luke Schenn is that good. It's tht Gustafsson isn't that good.
