I agree with almost everything here even though most of it could be copy and pasted from each board in the passed 3 years. I disagree with the "drafting the same player" BS. The oilers do need to make a move or two and it consists of aquiring 2 vets. 1 being a big body #1 or 2 C and a vet top pairing Dman. But you can't find those very often on the market.

Mmmmmmhmmmmmmm.....

honestly they need to make a few trades, the collection of young guys there isn't working, and at some point it has to fall on the players. You can only fire so many coaches/GMs before they have to take action on the players...it seems the Oilers just draft the same kind of players year in and year out.

Also, it seems that the culture up there is losing and the players don't care, no matter what they say in interviews.

You don't know what your talking about bubba. Sure Yak and Eberle are similar in stature , but aside from that the team is of average height and build.
Relax, these guys are young. Half these kids ( the first round picks)are just now becoming the players they were drafted to become, the other half are still developing their games- this is completely normal, and get used to it because not make will change in Oil country until we either develop a pair of stud Defensemen or trade for them.

Eakins has honestly helped this team. I don't think he's the answer but right now the team losing is not his fault. He hit it right on with his comments. We have some incredibly hard playing players, but some need to go. Jultz being a big one. Good player, but he's olaying to big of role for us. He's a Gilbert 2.0 in my opinion. We need a Jason smith/ Matt Greene type dman. I love ebs, but we'd get the most return out of him. We need to make some moves.

Ok then Mr.Genius, please expand as to who else is a "small, skilled player" on the Oilers. By my count, Eberle and Arcobello are the only two. RNH is comparable to Kadri, so that is negligible. Jultz? I would agree, only as I think he is overrated.

Our goalie last night just came back from a groin injury, but yes, Fasth should be better than that. Scrivens has been playing very well for us but needed a rest.
