So he's by far better than Stamkos?
- PhillySportsGuy

I knew this was gonna be bought up and my answer is yes. I take into the account that Iv was the only player to reach 30 plus during the half season and while Stamkos still had St Louis, plus Ov has been the best by far in shooting for a lot longer and he's still great.

Hard to believe Andre has been dead 20+ years. Only 46 when he died. The stories about him are legendary.

Always loved the one where he drank an entire case, 12 freakin bottles, of wine at one sitting to win a bet!

Manning to Phantoms, Brayden Schenn with Giroux & Voracek, no Raffl at skate

That's a shame. Raffl was having a really nice start to the season, hopefully he can come back soon.

So, is Coburn ready, or is it because the road trip's over?

Didn't expect Raffl today. Guess that news will come later.

That, and the story of 117 bottles of beer at one sitting. Amazing.

During the lock out half season, Ovechkin had 32 goals, Stamkos had 29. Ovechkin had 220 SOG, Stamkos had 157.

Ovechkin needed 63 more shots to score 3 more goals. Stamkos had St Louis, but Ovechkin had Backstrom, who is an elite playmaker & PPG player over 6+NHL seasons

Didn't say. Colaiacovo being able to step in and play well maybe a factor

Ah, good point. Probably told Manning not to unpack, just in case.

Well, it's a shame OV never had a great distributor of the puck to play with.

Manning isn't good enough to handle 15 minutes a night like Caliocoiviooiocoo

I used this. At ES Umberger was 16-14, and Rinaldo was 7-7. The 4th line did do much better than the last two games.

VandeVelde also taking shifts with Giroux & Voracek. Guessing next will be the Zamboni driver at SkateZone, then the Pretzel girl

Really don't know what kind of obsession they have going with that turd.

I'm starting to lean more in favour of splitting up G and Jake. That line has been a monster but with Jake clearly showing he can carry play on his own, seeing them apart for a few shifts might be a good thing.

When healthy.. That 3rd line can take some heat off Couturier in terms of defensive match-ups.

On Nov. 5, 2011, the Flyers ripped apart a woeful Columbus Blue Jackets team to the tune of 9-2. The Flyers led 5-0 after the first period and 8-0 after the middle stanza before packing up early in a sloppy third period. Philly got two goals from rookie Sean Couturier and one apiece from James van Riemsdyk, Jakub Voracek, Claude Giroux, Jaromir Jagr, Max Talbot, Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read. Steve Mason, then a member of the Blue Jackets, got roughed up for seven goals on 28 shots while Allen York was beaten twice on five shots. Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 33 of 35 shots (21 of which came in the final stanza).

I remember this game fondly. Its the nite my son was born.

This even made Mike Maneluk laugh.

Didn't Hextall's kid play with anyone better than VandeVelde at North Dakota?

FWIW, VandeVelde has almost matched his career point total prior to this season (4 pts) in just 8 games of this season. So there's that.

As somebody on twitter just said, you could put a potato on with Giroux and Voracek right now and it'd get points

With the way Lecavalier looks, and the jump he has, it's crazy to play him on the 4th line.

Calling Fasth a bit leaky at times was pretty kind Bill.
I thought he was terrible tonight. The Nuge is going to be great but he needs work on his faceoffs. Carlo looked solid, calm with the puck. Too bad about Raffl.
The Simmonds elbow penalty was pretty hilariously bad.

It's funny that the Edmonton coach gets blasted but really he's handcuffed by the idiot gm's inability to trade for players they need.

Vandevelde is playing solid Hockey. Strong skater, and strong on the puck. Don't see him as a top line player though.
