Bellemare deserves more than 10 minutes of ice time. Umberger gets 17! No way that guy brings more than Bellemare. Rinaldo had 8 min then Bellemare with 10.
He works hard every shift and Chief should give him more work.

Chara is a physical freak. I saw highlights when the Bruins were doing conditioning drills in camp. Chara did the most pull ups on the team by a huge margin. And bench pressed 225 pounds like 10 times more than anyone else. Considering he's pushing 40 and has arms 8 feet long pretty impressive. Not to mention he probably weighs at least 275

Either one or both of his parents were Olympic class athletes as well.

Having long arms always works against you in doing bench press, so yeah, it's pretty damned impressive.

Even Clement commented on Raffl's shot blocking as 'awkward'...sideways and on one knee, exposing both legs. Everybody's has their own style, and nobody likes to take the Lappy approach and drop to their knees to face the puck, but he took one for the team last night. Just hope it's not too serious.

I don't understand why all players don't wear skate guards. I suppose some feels it compromises their skating somewhat. To me, visors, and skate guards are a no brainer. The more protective equipment, the better. You are talking about a sport where 200+ pound men collide with each other at speeds of 30 mph, not to mention a frozen puck being shot at 100mph.

I was thinking 'The Count'.

LOL, Where have you gone Bob Dailey?

IMO, the best Flyer dman when it came to carrying the puck was Mark Howe, by far.

Some other good ones were:
Tom Bladon
Doug Crossman (couldn't stand the SOB but he could skate)
Steve Duchesne
Eric Desjardins
Paul Coffey (Had lost a step, but was still a better skater than most)
Petr Svoboda
Janne Niinimaa
Joni Pitkanen
Kim Johnsson
Matt Carle
Chris Pronger (not the fastest, but guys got out of his way, LOL)

Works against you in the bench press, and doing pull ups. He's pulling up that huge frame a long way.

If Chara were faced with this guy, what would he do?

He would snap him in half. Muresan is a stick.

I've never seen a player wield the Stanley Cup around the way he did. He picked that thing up like it was weightless.

I used this. At ES Umberger was 16-14, and Rinaldo was 7-7. The 4th line did do much better than the last two games.

That pass by Rinaldo was nice. Guy next to me was mad that Rinaldo doesn't fight enough anymore, and that he's spending too much time trying to be a "finesse" player.

People are blaming Grossmann for the pinch on the RNH goal. But he's just doing what he's supposed to be doing. His pinch stopped the breakout, and Rinaldo was back properly on the back check. All part of systems play. Rinaldo stumbled for a second and RNH went by him. Credit talent and blinding speed by RNH for that goal. 9 times out 10, with the way the Flyers played it, that play goes no where.
- MJL

Absolutely. It's not as if Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was able to be sprung free, clear and all alone. He had a man on him and the kid's speed was too much.

I'd have a hard time choosing between him and Karlsson. Hedman is the next great dominating two-way guy, but what Karlsson does well... nobody else can come close.
- Tomahawk

On this team, Victor Hedman is my choice. Outside of MacDonald, we don't have very many defensemen with a balanced two way game.

What order will the top 5 goal scorers be at the end of the season?

Current standings:
Perry
Nash
Taransenko
Kunitz
Stamkos

My guess:
Perry
Ovechkin
Stamkos
Seguin
Kessel

- Streit2ThePoint

Ovechkin is by far the best pure shooter in the league. He always starts off slow, then takes heat by mid season, suddenly he turns on the afterburners.

Rinaldo and Streit looked bad on that goal, but I don't know if they did anything wrong. They just got beat.

Well in their defense, they are Zac Rinaldo and Mark Streit.

Hard to believe Andre has been dead 20+ years. Only 46 when he died. The stories about him are legendary.
