I wouldn't pass up McDavid or Eichel. I would turn around and trade Draisaitl, RNH, Yakupov and/or Eberle after taking McDavid or Eichel.

One of the sadder things for them is that even their forwards haven't been as good as projected thus far. Yakupov is still young but he looks lost. RNH has got the skills but has yet to really put anything together. Hall is legit though and Eberle will give you 60 points but minimal defense. They're all still young though so there is plenty of time for them.

I know. Of course. I was kidding. McDavid is a generational talent according to people in the know.

Oh haha sorry about that. But yeah the Oilers have bad luck. Sam Gagner is a perfect example.

I'm old enough to remember the dynasty they had with about 8 Hall of Famers on their team. They can suck for eternity for all I care.

Bellemare deserves more than 10 minutes of ice time. Umberger gets 17! No way that guy brings more than Bellemare. Rinaldo had 8 min then Bellemare with 10.
He works hard every shift and Chief should give him more work.

They are too young. they need to mix it up with some vets. Theyll have to move one or two of those pieces.

I'd like to see him play more also. With Raffl hurt, he may get that chance. Umberger plays a solid all around game. He's just not generating enough shots to be more noticeable. But his play away from the puck is good, that's why he's playing more.

Agree on Bellemare. Fast, high compete level. Decent hands....you can play him in more than one situation.

With Raffl injured, I think Bellamare is going to see his role increased.

Exactly.

They made teenage johndewar very upset on two particular occasions in the '80s.

If only Dave Poulin and Tim Kerr could have been healthy.

The more I watch Voracek, he reminds me of Malkin when he gets time with open ice. I'm not saying he's as good of a player offensively as Malkin, but when he gets going, he looks very similar, and has similar speed. He's really becoming a superstar this season, which is awesome. If you had to pick a Team MVP so far, I think he's the clear-cut winner.

I think they want to keep him at the C spot. We shall see.

Agreed, they were the Flyers weakest line by far.
- BiggE

They had a few good shifts. Umberger was the weakest link.

No he wasn't. He's great defensively. He's like the John Maddon of today's NHL.

Probably. What will happen most likely is Schenn goes back up to the top line, and Akeson gets inserted back in the lineup.

This is probably crazy talk, and no way it will happen, but I'd try Akeson on the top line. The guy's main strength is his offensive play. Granted, all 3 are better playmakers than goal-scorers, but they're all able to fill the back of the net to an extent.

Thats really all that matters. No one ever needs to play the puck. Just be good without it.

I am sure Bellemare would work on that line if given the chance.
Umberger did not win many if any board battles last night and made a really bad pass. He is struggling IMO with his whole game. I want him to do well but I have not seen much from him. Berube must realize Bellemare deserves more ice and Umberger less.
