It is why I say first shooter should always be Kreider. Take out the goalie then you should score with your next two shooters - TPC

I mean outside of Kreider and Staal...what other first round picks over the last 10 or so years are playing for the Rangers right now? So McIlrath isn't panning out so far, just another one in line. Not a big deal to me. Rangers do good finding gems in the late rounds and trading for other teams first rounders. - TPC
Yeah but even when the Rangers "miss" they miss in spectacular fashion. Korpikoski, they gave up on him to early. Do we need to gove 2003? 2007 Cherapanov RIP. Sanguinetti over Giroux, Mcilrath over a list of guys. Jt Miller can't figure it out. How does that much bad karma surround one team in on singular round in the draft. |

Yeah, I was pissed when it happened. No point being still annoyed about it.
And lets be honest, the team and a lot of the fans wanted a new Beukeboom. The Rangers hadnt had a big tough defenseman in a long while. I agree it was a horrible pick, but I do get the whole reason behind it. - mdw7413
Yea its just par for the course. I don't sweat missing out on first round picks. |

That team went through a major identity crisis following the Hartnell-Gaborik incident. If we should blame anyone for the McIlrath pick, it's Hartnell. |

All of this is true, why it doesn't bug me. Just par for the course. Yet year after year they are making deep runs in the playoffs. The organization is doing something right. |

Yea it could always be worse. We could've had 3 first overalls and only draft 1 stud with them like the Oilers - rangerdanger94
This is why I say, it isn't a big deal to trade our first rounder every year. Maybe this is part of the reason they have over the last 3 years |

Hell yeah. I like that better. Blame the (frank)ing Flyers and the dirtbag Hartnell. |

So what your saying is we should trade away all our 1st round picks for veterans or prospects already playing in the NHL. |

Idk what the Answer is. All I know Staal was taking flack early the year on twitter. But to your point he is 1 of 2 players taken in in the 1st round by the Rangers that doesn't suck. He's still doing a good job with one bad eye and played though a conucssion. The other Kreider. I just don't understand.
To answer question, no cause the Rangers did that pre 2004 lockout and it never worked either. Idk. |

The funny thing is it would probably work out way better for the Rangers, judging by history.
The only way we should keep our 1st is if Kreider has a younger brother coming up in the future. |

I'm as pissed as if it were a loss, 2 points pissed away, something we do all too often, we'll be sweating it out in April because of games like these two, blown chances - HankdaTank
You do remember how we started off the 2012 season right? |
|
|
|
We were missing McDonagh J. Moore Klein Boyle Zucc and Stepan, played against a very good Blues team and had HORRIBLE luck with the puck going in the net, got a point and people are complaining. |

Those two points belong to us but because closing it out is a problem we let points slip away, great we were down 6 regulars and out played them for 45 minutes, F the moral victories, we need points
I hate leaving points on the table when they had the ability to take them more than any other outcome, these type of games frustrate me the most |

I don't think u posted anything positive all game. Did they not give a great effort tonight? Maybe we watched a different game. |

So a game where we had a D corps of Staal, Girardi, Hunwick, Kostka, Allen nd McIlrath managed to get a point against a team that had 111 points last year is a failure? Our backup goalie started nd were an unlucky post deflection by Nash from winning in overtime.
By no means did we let away 2 points, if anything we gutted out the point we deserved |

That's BS, don't give this positive-negative crap, the result is what I'm pissed about not the effort and I praised them on that all night and they did a great job minus 6 regulars but like I said these situations frustrate me the most, hate leaving points on the table that they earned |

Its funny cuz earlier in this season when the effort looked like crap but we somehow found a way to win you said F the points and that you care more about how the team looks and performs on the ice |

I never said that and I never said F the effort, I'm saying leaving points on the table when they are there to be taken sucks, they need to close out games when they have the ability to, you can't afford this come March and April |

Meh its whatever. I'm confident in this team to start racking up points once we get healthy. I understand we'd all love to see us run away with the presidents trophy year but teams that do that usually peak way too early.
The blues were an amazing team all last year and then lost the final 7 games of the regular season and got bounced in the first round. Our team sucked the beginning 3 months and then peaked in may. I'd rather have the latter every year. |

They should get rolling once healthy, if they can play this way minus 6 regulars then I think they will get back to the level they played at from January to June, MSL had his best game of the season, he and Nash took the reigns last night, I just don't want to have to play catch up once healthy |

I think it's time to break up Brass and MZA. That Line of Nash Brass MSL looked very very good. Although, come to think of it, anybody who plays with Nasher right now is looking good |

Yes but you've got to face the reality that there is A LOT of
Luck that can determine who wins a hockey game. Why does
A half ass puck, flung from the blueline, hit 2 guys and go in for
The blues? Because they really know how to finish? Rags make a
Picture perfect play from Talbot(!) to MSL to Nash and his shot is
1 inch from going off the post and in. Hockey is
Maddening like that but it's just the way it goes. |

In our last 7 games the Rangers are 4-1-2. Thats 10 points out of a possible 14. With the injuries they have, thats been pretty damn respectable. Everyone needs to calm the (frank) down. |
