When/if he turns into an NHL defensman I'll eat my words. But he has to stop "Matt Carknering" first. |

I think Malone gave a nice pep talk to McIlrath on how to serve penalty minutes. Spent half the period in the box |

You know who look good. Is Connor Allen. Wasn't flashy. Skated really well. Made the safe play most of time but had that shot that was deflected by MSL wide and made a couple of nice passes. |

Rangers seem to play better shorthanded on D.
Columbus we lost Moore.
Jets we lost McDonagh & Klein, and they put up a hell of a fight. |

I said it a few years ago, and I'll say it again. He is the new Dale Puriton. |

He's been challenged in both of those, he didn't go looking for the fights so not sure how the Carkner comparison comes up. To say he's lost them both, went up against tough experienced fighters and held his own in my book. |

Matt Carkner is penalty prone, not very mobile defenfesman knowing for making some god awful plays. Mciralth does play enough to handle the puck because he to busy in the box. The fight with Jackman he was challenged, I'll give you that I concede. But the fight with Reaves was pointless. Rangers had the momentum and what prompted that. Nothing, happened right off the draw. Earlier in the period he was involved with Cole. Rangers already have enough problem on D. They don't need this kid in the box every 5 minutes. |

I agree, however, I'd like to see those fights defending teammates. Someone takes a run at one of our guys I'm all for it. |

That I'd totally be ok with. But the fight with Reaves serves what purpose? Other than fact those two get to punch each other in the face right off a faceoff. I don't get. You're not going to stay in the NHL if you can stay on the ice. His only saving grace is RHS. |

I don't disagree how the fight wasn't needed, and he'll learn that. Cole started pushing him in the crease, no need for him to back down there. It's his 3 nhl game, the book is still out on the not very mobile or know for making god awful plays. All of the reports from this year in Hartford are he's been solid. |

Exactly, what led to that fight? Our defense is decimated right now. He needs to look at this as his chance to overtake John Moore and not Richard around with pointless fights. |

I never thought I would say this, but I was watching a Devils game the other night and miss Chico. The grade school kid that does the announcing now is so damn annoying, he seems to feel he has to yell about everything. I guess thats what happens when garden gnomes make you look short. |
