I just see so much Fitzpatrick in him (albeit a much better version )

With a good O-line he's capable, but eventually we need better.

I like the young core we have, with a pretty good QB we would contend for the next few years.

Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with EJ Manuel

I still think if their is someone worth taking, they should
- sbroads24

I wouldn't be upset if they addressed the O line at least twice and then went QB. I mean we could always trade a pick from the next draft year to get another pick early on.

I take it you think Orton is gonna stink it up for the second half?

Don't know if anyone has seen it but, Roto World posted last night the Eagles aren't happy with Nick Foles and will be looking or drafting another QB.

Kyle Orton: Season savior? Possibly. Franchise savior? No way. However, the scary part is that if he does continue to play well, he can opt out of next year's contract if he so chooses.

We can win with Orton if we protect him, the playoffs and a first round exit would be my guess but if we really want to build a contender they need to address the QB situation. Kyle Williams only has a couple of years left with Kiko coming back next year our D will be championship caliber its the O-Line and QB play that needs to be addressed ASAP.

I wonder if it's just Chip Kelly's system.

His numbers were insanely good last year

Florida is ok...I haven't really had time to deal with anything political down here

That's because the majority forgot who they voted for.

Foles isn't the answer either though. They need to draft and develop their guy, not another cast off from a different team. Just because it doesn't look like Manuel is the guy doesn't mean they should give up and not draft another QB just cause Orton is playing well.

He stinks. They let him throw it all day with pretty good protection and he throws picks and over throws a lot . Mark Sanchez will be a better fit for the rest of the season anyways.

He can? Awesome.

Here comes the five year 60 mil extension. Which will in turn force them to either let Hughes go to FA or release Mario

i dont think anyone really disagrees with you here but i could be wrong. He may have a few good years left in him and is in no way "the savior." The point id like to bring up though is that he MIGHT be the first qb to bring us to the playoffs in 14 years, you cant discount that. Then it begs the question, if we go 10-6 or even 11-5 this year how can you get rid of him afterwards. You cant.

IMO Foles is a very good QB and is a better option then EJ or Orton that being said, i'm sure we will draft another QB so it takes 3 more years to get a "real leader". I do like how Orton has played and carried the team.

We have to make it first.

If we do, than build on it. If not we have to get someone else pretty fast.

Have you watched any eagles games? There system is set up for QBs to flourish. He isn't very accurate and is definitely over hyped.

They don't have big money tied up besides Mario they should be able to fit Dareus, Hughes and even paying Orton 8-10 million a year into the cap. Is it smart? No but giving Orton a 4 year 35 million dollar contract wouldn't kill the cap if its structured correctly.

I see 2003 all over again.

9-7 going into week 17 need to win to get in, loses to the scout team.

I think Foles is more a product of the system I would rather develop my own guy.

I do like Orton's composure though that's for sure.
