I'll be honest, I'm worried about how rusty he is. Hasn't played in any kind of game since April. No preseason, AHL or any other kind of situation except practice and skating with a junior team.
- Jsaquella

he's brittle anyway, why worry about what kind of shape he's in. he'll be injured by thanksgiving.

When I read that I thought it was an old story reposted but it's not. That was covered in the preseason. Wonder why they're rehashing it now.

You'd think it would be easier on the players who play and practice there as opposed to visiting clubs.

- mayorofangrytown

they don't practice there, usually, of course. you know that. mason even remarked he wished they could actually develop true home ice advantage.

of course the flyers management respond with "we have no plans to make a change". perhaps if your starting goalie is complaining about the new lighting you might want to look into it. new isn't always better.

sounds like excuses to me

the rink i regularly skate in now has a slightly different problem. at one end, it's dark, and at the other it's bright, but seems even brighter than normal because of how dim it is at the other end. it's a lot harder to track pucks in the dark end, but also tricky in the bright end too after switching ends. it takes several minutes to adjust. lighting makes a difference. and mason's play really has been fine this year. the team in front of him has sucked.

Its alright. About +5C, 41F lately. Very decent for November. Broke my scrape brush for the car window last year and forgot to buy a new one. Couple days this week scraping the ice off with a credit card.

Since Mason (and Emery) make a living having to track a piece of frozen rubber that routinely travels at high speeds, you would think the people that operate the arena would take any complaint from them seriously.

I meant their game day skates at the Center not all of their practices.

Amen Bill!!

To not use Akeson on the pp, which is exactly the place to make best use of his skill set, because you aren't satisfied with his ES play is just flat out dumb.

- BiggE

why would we put akeson on the PP when he hasn't really done much at all

you mean with his 4 minutes of ice time playing with Rinaldo and the 4th line center du jour?

is this going to go on all day?

we should be more concerned with read, umberger, couts, and schenn. these guys all need to be better. period.

and for the record, akeson is being misused and misjudged. IN MY OPINION.

It's even tough to watch a game there as a fan. I never thought I'd say "too bright" about an arena.

Umberger has not come as advertised.
Read has not been playing well at all.
I would have Umberger on 4th and find a way to get Bellemare much more ice time...more ice than Umberegr for sure!

The part that bothers me most is about how they lose the puck in the crowd because its so dark off the ice.

Fix the issue.

Bill doesn't usually call out decisions/players/coaches. This is news.

In all honesty, this team just isn't good enough. When you look up and down this line up all you can see are players who are usually playing for lesser teams except this is our team. This is now that lesser team we used to look at.
