The guy is a great offensive defenseman but ...

Karlsson couldn't find his own zone with a compass and a sextant and smoke signals and a map and a St. Bernard and a homing beacon and a starry sky and a road sign and a GPS and flares and sonar and an alien landing strip and a psychic and a breadcrumb trail and the Bat signal and Aragorn and a rally flag and location services "on" and a guide dog and, a spy satellite and a team of Sherpa guides and ...

the goalie yelling "Polo" every time he says "Marco".

I would have come over to your house and blown you if you added in a "Lloyd's Beacon"

Ok, Wings beat Kings. Leafs lose to Wings in OT. Wings better than Cup Champs. Leafs almost beat Wings. Leafs beat Rangers. Rangers Eastern Conf Champs. Leafs beat Blackhawks. Cream of the crop. Therefore, Leafs will start losing to inferior teams soon and those 2-3 losses will cost them 8th spot.

frank that, they have Reimer to bail them out

nice!

but seriously, wouldn't the Leafs defense be better with him over Franson - given the others they have.

and I don't understand one thing... there was apparently a deal on the table to acquire Josh Gorges for Franson during the summer... isn't Percy a younger version of a Gorges type defenseman? (of course one that hasn't been beaten up by McLaren).

WTF? now Gleason is better than Franson......................Gleason

Anyone here still think Bernier has elite goalie potential? Reimer seems really hungry after his last performance, is this tandem a good one going forward structured as it is? I've seen both guys play and I have to say that I am more impressed with Reimer at this point.

Bennett and a 1st for Bernier.

I'm just glad there's a debate over who's better right now, Bernier or Reimer, rather than which one is worse. Good problem to have.

Luckily we don't have to choose right now and having both is not a bad combo. I would be more nervous going forward with just Reimer though.

Bernier is still better. He will be the number 1. If Reimer keeps playing like this sell high on him.

Why sell at all if we aren't set with a solid back up right now. I don't think we've seen enough of Bernier to see him go it alone without a really solid guy in there with him.

no crap, and if they're looking to get rid of someone it should be Gardiner. probably get a better return and he's way worse defensively.

That would be my bet as well, just because of Bernier's pedigree and rebound control. If I had to bet which one is going to have the better career from this point forward I'd go with Bernier. But definitely, you want Reimer to show he's a starting goalie as well so you've got some assets to work with. Then they need another goalie in the system who is a viable backup and they can make a move down the road.

Yeah I agree. I find it hard to get a read on Bernier though.

He was insane last year, when if I recall the Leafs gave up the most shots against in history. He's shown a lot to be optimistic about.
