Gimme a tough stay at home righty over a soft stay at home lefty any day of the week. Polak has been great, and can actually clear out the front of the net.
we have given up 3 goals during this 3 game win streak...D is starting to come together - GardinerExpress
I agree with most things you say, including this. If only you could ditch this Gardiner love |

I made this accoutn when he was in the midst of that great rookie year. Still a guy who can create from the back end, he just needs to play with a stay at home type like Robidas/Polak, because Rielly is too similar and Franson is just not reliable |

The Leafs would make millions for every playoff home game. Rogers and Bell pretty much only care about profit, and you can bet they'd love to win a cup every single season. Long term sustainable success would make them a lot more money. That's their goal I am sure.
What us fans do or don't do won't change that. We just have to hope that one day they'll figure out how to actually win. - daeth
Yep. Imagine the wacko ratings for those playoff games, all the merch they would sell from a cup run. The notion that the leafs aren't trying to win because they have a large fanbase is just simply not believable. |

Rielly. Not even close in my opinion, and I like Gardiner. |

They could probably even charge money to watch away games on the screen at the ACC if they made it far into the playoffs.

It's early but Reilly has arguably been their best dman so far this year. |

Leafs let out lot of chances primarily on the PP, Reimer was great, Dion and Franny is looking like a pretty good pair in a small sample... |

But he demands that role with his attitude and cap hit. He's a good player no doubt. But if he played in Nashville or Florida he'd probably be nominated for a norris. Toronto media loves to destroy careers. - LeafsBlueline
No...he really wouldn't... |

This is the bipolar fan I speak of. You won, but the win had nothing to do with Dion. Sometimes you lose, and it has nothing to do with Dion. - habman75
Dion has been put on a "minute cap" this season. He's playing less than he did last year.

hard to argue with this. If Carlyle had any faith in him he'd be the #1. IMO he's been better than bernier. But Leaf management want Bernier to be the #1 so he is. If they trade Reims and Frans at their peak, we might actually get nice returns

I would disagree Bernier would still be the starter IMO. |

Gunnar was never healthy and would never play the body. It was time to move on. Good trade by nonnis who never gets credit for anything. See Polak, Komarov, Santorelli for examples - LeafsBlueline
exactly... except you forgot Winnick.
Gunnar was and will never be physical force like Polak is - completely different players. For the Leafs now there's no question is better fit.
I do think however the Leafs need to put Clarkson back with Komarov and Santorelli... I don't think Clarkson is quick enough to play with Bozak and JvR.
and any one complaining about Peter Holland, after the past two games needs to give their head a shake. |

there's such a simple solution.... play until you lose or there's back to back nights.

Meh, a healthy Gunnar is better I think. He was just being used wrong. He shouldn't be on the top pairing. - daeth
Gunnarson was literally the softest defenceman the leafs have had since ever. He is not what this team needs at all. Polak is the better defenceman for this club. In the small sample siZe that I've seen of Polak in Toronto I'd take him over gunnR every day. |

its not so simple when bernier allows 1 goal, getting two wins then reimer comes in on a back to back and gets 45 saves in a masterpiece against the hawks. Reimer has been consistent this year, and Bernier is on fire his last few games. who do we start next? |
