But the idea of burning something and inhaling the fumes seems dumb to me. Plus we lost my father in law to lung cancer as he started when "8 out of ten doctors smoke Camels!", and weed is more carcinogenic than tobacco (though used less).

All depends how you use it. Weed isn't as bad as cigarettes. I just don't like how people have a negative perception towards weed but always talk about getting drunk. I'm sorry to hear about your grampa, it must have been hard. I've had family friends who were killed by drunk drivers. In fact, alcohol abuse is far more common. So to each their own.

It really is, and it's sad. I'm good with beer and wine, but 99% of the time drink at home and never drive after.

As for weed, I'm one of the few who doesn't like the smell, and is somewhat hypersensitive to it. If people want to use it, that's their call and I won't judge, but I won't ever advocate for it.
