I like that you think it's Emelin's fault that Burrows threw a dirty hit. - BINGO!
So you agree it's all on Emelin.
Guys shouldn't put themselves in a position to get injured, they have to stop blaming the guy throwing the check. The amount of times someone turns to face the boards and gets hammered, then the guy hitting gets suspended. Total bs . |

Why are you guys so closed-minded? Why can't other perspectives be introduced into the conversation? - bloatedmosquito
I think the problem wasn't whether the hit was dirty or not, as everyone has seemed to agree that it was dirty.
I think the problem stems from your insistence of saying that Emelin could not have stopped the goal from happening. If the suspendedable hit was called on the ice then there would not be a goal. Secondly, if the illegal hit was not made then Emelin may have been able to stop the goal, while it was unlikely, still possible if he was not taken out.
Now if your main problem is the idea that the Canadians would have won if that goal was disallowed, don't worry as everyone here already questioned EE for that because things would not stayed as is otherwise. |

Pretty hard not to be disrespectful using that language. Not a word I take lightly, and should not be used in the context you are using it, or any for that matter. |

I wasn't talking about my perspective. I was referring to Scooby's.
The situation on the ice was emelin made a terrible pass, burrows came in with what seemed like a good, clean hit, and a goal was scored because of it. One could argue that emelin knew burrows was coming that's why he made the terrible pass… heard the footsteps so to speak.
Now that the league has deemed it an illegal hit, the goal should not have counted. So you are correct on the fact that it was a penalty.
But the goal counted, emelin's ok, burrows is out $72,000, and the canucks won. Everyone's happy. |

Seriously though. I don't want to offend, but if you trully believed what you wrote, then maybe you are. Emelin never put himself in a bad position. Players don't skate upright like candles. They bend at the knees and the momentum going forward leans then slightlu forward. He wasn't reaching for the puck, he was skating towards a play he had hoped to make. Blaminh Emelin does aim towards the possibility of being retarded. Unless you know (frank)all about hockey, then I appologize.
