It might be. But RNH/Malkin is no where near the skill set to replace Crosby/Malkin for that one two punch. McDavid is probably not going to come to the Oilers this year, and I haven't read of any super talents even close to Crosby foreshadowed for 2016, 2017. Crosby is a Pen until further notice. In today's game, you keep that one two punch and if you need to get rid of one of them, get rid of Malkin. Easier to replace.

Klefbom and Moroz - Both look to be Real good NHL Prospects. Moroz is a bit of an unknown how he will transition between WHL then the AHL then NHL however looks to be a strong power forward type. Klefbom should be a top 4 defensemen in the NHL my only thing about him is the injury he had.

And to be fair...Mact said the exact same about our young guys. He said he gets calls on our forwards but will not trade any of them unless its an overpay. So Eberle and klef and a first for myers is quite hilarious.

Ok. Think of it this way. Your top six wingers are all solid players. Hall, Eberle, Yak, Perron. All skill based forwards who can score and aren't exactly pure grit. You can take out one of those four (outside of Hall) and he can be replaced. Finding a top 2 d-man isn't as easy, and I'd say getting Myers to solidify that defense is going to work a lot better in the long run than keeping Eberle.

Because of the Benning/Myers connection, I get it. At the end of the day the price right now for Myers right now is too high, that's why he's not going anywhere. If he does the team has to deal with absorbing that 5.5 mil cap hit. Those two factors make if difficult for any team.
