But Buffalo doesn't have to move myers so anyone getting him will have to overpay or he stays a saber. So your choice is stay bad and keep your pick and keep drafting high or make a trade in which you will overpay in any situation because everyone knows the oilers are desperate.

He won't be cheap, that's why he won't get traded. I can't see anyone trading a top end Prospect and a First rounder. Especially in this draft.

No he will not. However too many people think he will be cheap. One rumour I heard was a Top end prospect like Draisaitl (Not saying Draisaitl directly) and either a 2nd or 3rd rounder and it could be as high as a first if the team went deep into the playoffs. Like Conference finals. Then you are talking low first still a bit high but still Sabres have enough young talent to throw in to make it a worth while trade.

I am just getting tired of the Well I will give you a 3rd liner and a 3rd pair defensemen for Myers. Not going to happen. It has to be worth it to both teams.

So what under 25 year old D would be available in a trade that may make the oilers better in the future?

Only have two that come to mind and its hard to put value on them.

A top dman for Edmonton doesn't necessarily meaning a top dman for the top 15 teams either. Trading for a number 2 on a solid team or even a number 3 on a REALLY deep defensive team might suit just well enough. It would have to be a solid stay at home defenseman who plays like Chelios or similar did, gritty, shutdown, checking, keep the (frank) out of my zone type guy.

Getting a Doughty, Pietrangelo, Kronwall, Chara, Keith, is not going to happen, but several teams have players like Ericsson, Hjarlmasson, Shattenkirk, Voynov (at some point), etc.. that could be had realistically with a top six player and a mix of roster players/prospects/picks.

And you are not getting Myers for a 4th 5th defensemen and a 3rd line player. You are going to pay in Top Prospects and or a 1st round draft pick like it or not. The Wings called about Myers, Buffalo said the starting point is either Nyquist, or Mantha. Wings said no. Buffalo then said well what about Larkin which is another good prospect and they didnt like that either. Why? Because they dont want to part with what it will take to get Myers. Too many teams are smoking crack if you think Myers is not going to come with 1 or 2 really good young pieces.

Yandle is not right for the Oilers. He'd be a good fit, but the Oilers need a DEFENSE man. Not a offense first with average d-man skills. That's most of their roster in the defensive end.. average. They need shut down ability.

Myers is going to be expensive. No one cares that you dont want to pay the high price for him you will have to. If you are not going to trade Eberle then you are going to pay a high price in young talent.

So that means Draisaitl and a 1st for Myers. We can throw in a 2nd line center Hodgson for Klefbom and to add a young Defensemen we will send Pysyk. Petry is a throw in.
