I think it was a reasonable attempt at a hit, a bit late sure and unfortunately caught his head. I didn't see any intent to injure, a game would have sufficed I feel. Really i don't care much, but it seems pretty steep considering way worse is done with no penalty or review.

History aside, I really don't think the hit was too bad. Maybe a game for head contact, but that was secondary. Shoulder was the initial contact.

I think it was a dirty hit as well, Burrows should never get the benefit of the doubt. He has proven that he will do whatever he feels like to another player.

Myers is going to be expensive. No one cares that you dont want to pay the high price for him you will have to. If you are not going to trade Eberle then you are going to pay a high price in young talent.

So that means Draisaitl and a 1st for Myers. We can throw in a 2nd line center Hodgson for Klefbom and to add a young Defensemen we will send Pysyk. Petry is a throw in.

I still see the initial point of contact being the shoulder.
As long as the discipline is consistent with similar hits its all good.

But like I said, I really don't care. I think Emelin milked it a bit, but it wasn't a necessary hit. It could have been no suspension or 30 games and it really wouldn't bother me.

A douche, yes. The rules changed so he is suspended, OK. Last year, probably no suspension and only a 5 for the hit, if that.

The NHL probably has a lot of angles for the hit and I would assume has spoken to the officials of the game and trust they made the right call, I do think it would've been longer if Emelin didn't come back in the third.
