In all seriousness though, the defense in Arizona is pretty good. Yandle is better than people give him credit for I think and he would certainly help our team. - Dangles13

Hey Rutts, my brother just had surgery today on his orbital bone. they gave him tramadol for the week before he could get it fixed. I've never heard of that before, and googling didn't turn up any "stupid people" explanations. But from what i did read, it does block opiod receptors and can be comparable to morphine.
Any help clarifying it? |

Oh Tramadol.....we have had some good times together
It is a non-narcotic, opioid analgesic, most likely got the yellow pills that are mixed with a regular strength tylenol but they do have stronger doses. It is probably closer to codeine than morphine as it isn't a narcotic, the withdrawal symptoms and chances of addiction are less than with morphine. One main difference with tramadol though is that it does effect nor-epinephrine and serotonin (neurotransmitters) so anyone on antidepressants should avoid or limit it's use. It is newer drug, was given it after my knee surgery in 2011, had never heard of it before either, and it (frank)ed me right up.
Hope your bro is doing ok. What did he do to his face to need surgery? |

Ok, good to know it's not too (frank)ed of a drug! hahah
He plays hockey out around Cold Lake, he and a guy were battling for the puck, and my brother tripped up in the other guys skates, fell face first towards the ice, (this is now what he has been told as he has no memory of anything happened) and the guys heel of his skate caught my brother directly on his left orbital bone. my brother was then bleeding from his face on the ice and pretty badly concussed.
The stupid (frank)er doesn't wear a face mask, not even a visor. And the guy is lucky that he didn't catch the skate blade in his eye!
So yeah, my brother had 6 broken spots in his orbital bone and partially broken nose along with a concussion. He went via ambulance to UofA hospital and they gave him a bunch of morphine. Best part is that apparently some cutie nurse was checking on him for a while, but since he was so out of it and doped up, he couldn't get a good look at her or hit on her
He had his surgery and is apparently feeling much better already. But he doesn't have to work for at least another two weeks and gets to enjoy pain killers for a while. And gets to tell people he has a metal plate in his face.
Funny, he is the fourth guy I know that have broken their orbital bones. |
