Set like Hall-Perron-Pouliot. Sure, Perron might be gone in 2 years. Is Foligno going to fill a 2LW spot? Hell no. Maybe 3LW/4LW. Not a top 6 guy on either side and for a team thats only real strength is on the wings, it'd be a shame to get rid of it for not much.

When does he meet his potential? He's not a top pairing D but he's getting paid like one. He's 24, when do you say maybe he's not going to hit the expectations set on him.

Sure we could use Myers/Yandle/Boychuk, not for an inexcusable amount of assets.

- TheNugeIsHuge

My bad. I thought u meant left defencemen.

I think Foligno absolutely could fill a top role spot. In fact, I think that's the role that he's being groomed for long term. This isn't a case of just stars on the top lines. I don't need to get into it too deeply, u know what I think about size, depth, evening out the lines and something that top unit could use.

And Myers is playing good hockey now. I don't want this too become an argument where there fact is that Myers is useless and his only value is potential. Not the case at all. He helps us now. A lot IMO. But he hits that potential, it don't matter if yaks scores 40 in 3 years. We still win The trade.

Myers is worth more than yaks right now. It just is what it is. And that first should be in play to make us better now. I have no desire for future saviour high picks.
I think keeping the team as is and letting them nose dive is what's inexcusable...

I would of even paid more. They can have all the middle picks they want.
- Oilfan19

Hell yeah! Who cares if we have prospects? Start trading picks for players and we'll start winning and then we can just sign whom ever the (frank) we need.

I'm being serious, If we gut the future to win now I think it would be better for the team.

Not me. I hate giving up 1st rounders. They are the key to ongoing depth in the organisation for years. Teams that keep theirs are good perpetually.

The only way I consider it is if I consider it the final piece to a cup.

Most teams would love to add those sort of guys but they seem like they have a weird value associated with them. Good players but not worth giving up a 2015 first rounder for them.

If Yotes or Sabres really want to get rid of those players, they probably are not going to get full value on their return, can't see too many teams using their 2015 pick in any deal unless they have full confidence they are a deep cup contending team.

I really don't know why they are being shopped in the first place, seems odd

- DDM-Coga

We ain't willing to give up a first rounder to acquire 50+ point Keith effin yandle who's in his prime years, but neither old?

I don't even know what to say. If we feel that more picks and prospects in a deep draft is more important at this stage than winning now, well...Jesus. Speechless

If the deal puts us in a playoff contending spot Im all for it. Top prospects are great but we need to supplement them with great vet's. If it costs a 1st then thats the way it is.

My problem with Yandle is that he is not the Dman we really need. He's not a shut down guy.

Yandle is a Ufa in 2016 and will be 30, if you are prepared to take the risk of him walking or extending him well into his 30s at a very high cap hit. That's how I see it. Great player but to give up a 1st in the deepest draft in years plus probably orher assets, don't like the rate of return on him

After 4 years of bottom feeding, multiple first overalls and another lottery pick last year, I can believe that anyone would consider letting us bottom feed again cause it's a deep draft.

I'd love to trade that pick and not even Let the thought of drafting high again be an option

As much as I would've like Johnny on this team the Isles did give a lot for one year of the guy. Especially now that he only produced in one of the last 8 games. Isles had to get him and I suspect we were driving the price up, but that's a lot of assets to give up for one year of him.

I think we a need a two way guy. Not a true shut down. We have a few stay at home types.
Not to say yandle is that per se. He's offence first, but I think his defensive warts are exaggerated. And he makes up for them with his ability to battle IMO.

But to each his own

people were saying that about the 2014 1st and now Draisaitl is a huge huge asset for them. Sounds great in theory, but when EDM finishes 5th last we'll be eating our own shit.

If I'm a team that's not Edmonton, I would do it. EDM needs a guy that pushes the river against top competition. Unless you're shipping Schultz out, I don't see Yandle as a fit. He'd play the middle six mins 19 does

Ideally if you are moving that first it's for a guy that helps you win now. I mean Prv and a 2nd got us a top six winger. Wouldn't our 1st and Klefbom get us a legit d-man?
