Agreed. The Islanders are where the Oilers should be at this point. Great forwards, moderate defense, good goaltending. The biggest differences are that the Islanders have an elite center in Tavares and Oilers have Hall, and the Blueline/crease is slightly better with the solid vets backing up talented blue liners and Halak>Scrivens.

absolutely, I wouldn't want to lose a future stud dman like that, but if the Islanders falter for some reason and that pressure to make the playoffs creeps in, teams do some really rash trades

But Buffalo doesn't have to move myers so anyone getting him will have to overpay or he stays a saber. So your choice is stay bad and keep your pick and keep drafting high or make a trade in which you will overpay in any situation because everyone knows the oilers are desperate.

He's in the Czech leagues. He fizzled out after the lockout and was criticized for not caring about his game.. never really turned into a big scorer, don't think he ever broke 30 goals. He had a solid two-way game, but was lackadaisical about his overall play.

He played for the Habs and the Preds for a few years each but did (frank) all with both teams. I wouldn't recommend bringing in him. If you want someone who was drafted in the early 1990s to come in, get physical, and provide leadership, Bertuzzi is available.
