So even the talking heads on the broadcast here in Chicago are talking up the SOGs.

Too little. Too late.

So when they STILL look like this another 20-30 games in, will everyone still be defending what we're seeing?

If you listen to him most of the time, and you do not know hockey history, you might be shocked to learn that he actually played in the NHL!

It wasn't a dive - Seabrook pushed him near the board. Yes. He did dramatically embellish, but you don't do that there to even remotely give an opportunity for a penalty to be called.
- CaptainBlackhawk

Hey Cap, the actual penalty is EMBELLISHMENT. So, yeah, we agree. Nice dive.

When DK was a young single man, the ladies would talk about having to wipe their shins...so I believe this pattern has been in place a long time...

Set play to end the game. Faceoff win, umbrella pass....Keith into shinpads

The hawks were credited with as many turnovers as TOR had shots on goal.....

Know it's not what anyone wants to hear but on the offensive end it's mostly a matter of luck.

______

Pretty much spot on correct. I know the negative nancies won't want to hear that.

I think most of he negative nancy's just want to see us play to our potential. 26 turnovers is not that.

Turnovers were the big issue tonight. Overall play, ability to put the puck on the net etc. wasn't an issue.

So it stands to reason, they did well in the past and won 2 cups because of luck? Does that excuse go both ways?

The point he's making is that the Hawks (for the most part) are doing all the things that make you an elite team in this league. They've had a short-term string of bad luck here over a small sample size in the season.

Just, who is everyone???

Some are happy with what they see. Others are far from happy (me, for one). This team, I truly believe, needs a big shakeup. But maybe they're just in a bad luck funk. I personally cannot believe the Hawks didn't find the net in the 3rd, so there could be something to the bad luck argument right now. Problem is, there's no law--not even of averages--that has to change in this season.

They might want to consider showing up before the 3rd period, like at game time.

So scoring is primarily the result of luck? I would disagree with that.

No.

He's saying in this small segment of the season, right now, for the Hawks, they've had horrible luck on the offensive end. They're getting quality chances, they're just getting stonewalled.

I'm done - the 2-3 of you that will sit here for the next few hours talking about how horrible this team is, how the Hawks are doomed, that horrible player Kane etc... can commiserate together.

But they do seem to Be able to "flip the switch" in the 3rd, no?
