So Snow is responsible for the coaching of the team and Wang is responsible for all GM responsibilities? Something that should be Snow's fault this thread blames Wang and now Capuano is Snow's puppet? Are you guys facking kidding me? How about the possibility that Capuano is just that bad a coach and Snow is a bad enough GM to endorse him? As crazy as that sounds that's whats happening!

This would be the other possibility....

if strome or lee are scratched or on the fourth line and crappy moves 2/3 of the fourth line to the third line I'm gonna lose my mind.
- Isles_since_6

If they go with those lines, I don't think you can scratch Strome...who's supposed to center the line? Boulton? Still, Strome and Lee on the fourth line is pointless. Neither is an "energy" player, so basically you'll be asking too much of your fourth liners, who you're moving to a shutdown role, and you're eliminating the role of your fourth line...to provide a high-energy shift to spark momentum.

I'd wouldn't mind seeing:

Nelson-Tavares-Okposo
Kulemin-Grabovski-Strome
Lee-Nielsen-Clutterbuck
Martin-Cizikas-Conacher

I think, down the middle and on the first line, that's sort of what made the most sense before everyone started over-thinking things. Bailey/Grabner goes in for Clutterbuck when either is healthy, Clutterbuck goes back to the fourth line, and one of Conacher/Martin is scratched, depending on who's playing better.

I'd be fine with these lines, I don't like clutterbuck as more than a fourth liner, but conacher hasn't shown anything to prove he can play ahead of him.

Yeah, it's a temporary dilemma until other forwards are healthy, but I figured Clutterbuck just slings pucks toward the net regardless of the situation anyway, so he might as well have Lee standing in front to try and make something of it.

and when bailey comes back he bumps clutterbuck back down to the fourth line, and conacher sits.

will likely not like the lines capuano comes up with for tomorrow.

Strome has more points than the fourth line combined. This makes perfect sense to no one besides capuano. Clutterbuck ? Strome or lee as the thirteenth fwd? You break up the second line which was great prior to grabovskis injury and Nelson is no longer a center. None of it and I mean none of it makes sense. I should be used to this by now but you're making someone our second line center again that stated himself he's a third Lin. You're demoting two kids who obviously shouldn't be and moving up a player in clutter buck who has been just a little north of a plug. Our secondary scoring will take a hit mark my words. He's doing everything in his power to get fired. Cant make this shat up.

Could not agree more, Crappy is lost, grasping at this point.

Conacher has been literally the second coming of pm Bouchard. He doesn't mesh well, is always running into Tavares and has less points than anyone in the top 9 and he got to play 10 games with Tavares and Okposo. That is mind blowing.

He's just too small to do anything at the NHL level but be faster than everyone else and score goals, which he can't do- unlike everyone's favorite crackhead, who used to play in Manhattan. He'll make the Bridgeport fans happy....but then again, someone else will pluck him off waivers, thinking he's something he's not....so it will be some other minor league team for which he becomes "king of Triple-A"....

Here's a clue for them- start with a simple defensive game, and individually give out the rope as you determine which players deserve it, and which ones just need to play their position properly.....as opposed to starting with pond hockey and then trying to figure out how to play defense.

It is a joke. In the sense that Newsday is a joke when it comes to covering this team.
I cannot believe how bad their sportswriters are at providing relevant info about this team anymore. I mean, I do understand WHY, because the Isles are a blackhole when it comes to providing info & the accessibility of the GM—and when Garth does peek out of his cage to see his shadow, his remarks are cliche, obvious and hollow. I wonder if they even will continue to follow the team when they move to brooklyn, which despite the geographical and physical facts, is not considered a part of "Long Island."

Very true but cant blame the D for Johnson going behind the net to stop the puck realizes he cant make and totally confuses everyone on the ice. OR a shot from the side boards that goes in because hes not hugging the post. OR a wrister that floats in over the glove hand of Halak.

Again I am not disagreeing that there are better coaches out there than Capuano but the goalies need to start stopping pucks.

- urmyboyblu

yes, agreed they haven't been sharp.. but how sharp would any goalie be knowing the lack of a defensive system in front of him?

If your goalie is going into games KNOWING that its just him out there, hes going to over play pucks, he is going to try and do everything because the guys in front of him aren't going to do any of it.

That PP should be scoring..we saw what they can do. Their best players are on the ice and they haven't been getting it done...can't blame the goalies and defensive game when your on the PP unless a shorty gets scored.....our top guys need to be our top guys...no real changes can be made IMO there....in the end this team fell apart when Bailey left!!!!!
- Nolanders

Sad but true... Josh Bailey is the lynch pin that holds this team together.
