yup, so long as gardiner was dealt for thornton
thornton bozak wouldnt be a bad 1st and second line center combo
and yandle would be a nice upgrade on the brainless child gardiner

I have no idea how taxes work for people making that much money in canada or the us but a good accountant could make up for most of the difference. Teams like the Rangers have no trouble attracting players. I highly doubt living there is cheaper than any canadian hockey city. Plus, the weather isn't that much better if any. - Sammich
That's a good way to end up in an audit. I know a guy who had "a good accountant". He made 120k in a year and somehow the accountant got his payable tax down to 0. Like the CRA was going to let that happen for long. It isn't logical.
Get a good accountant and a financial planner. |

Would they really want Gardiner? Burns is doing a heck of a job out there. |

Kadri and Franson for Vermette and Yandle? I would do that for sure. I have always been a fan of Vermette. Wins faceoffs, plays well defensively, and can put up a fair amount of points. Yandle is a great d man. |

No way they trade Kadri and Gardiner for a declining, 30 year old, injured guy with a bad back.
If they do then Non is a liar, because he has said 20 times he won't do that kind of deal. - Rang
Who's on the decline? |

I should have finished with the planner caught and helped get the mistake fixed to save the client some fines and backlash from the CRA.

I know Eklund's credibility for rumors is eh... But I believe there is something to Yandle and Vermette. |

I'd prefer it to be E. Staal.
Thornton doesn't look fast enough to keep up with Kessel and JvR. Think he's lost a step.

I don't think the market for Thornton is as big as people think it is. If he does get traded he has a choice to which team he is going to. And whoever that team is can grab SJ by the balls. |

If the canes would take the same deal then sure. With Nonis behind the wheel he'd take the full contract and we'd retain 500k of Gardiner's salary. |

staal will cost a (frank) ton more than gardiner + however
And Thornton plays in the west.. he can keep up fine.
he still scores at a 0.91 PPG pace as well |

If you want something of significance you've gotta give something up. Kessel has been there going on six years now with little team success, time to make some bold moves. Nonis would never do it because he's absolutely terrible at his job, his claim to fame is trading for Lu and he's still resting on those laurels all these years later.
His bad contracts in TO are starting to scratch the surface of Sather in New York. - LeftCoaster
Schenn for JVR??? you dont trade kessel for RoR brutal |

How much do we need Thornton? I would love to get him. Great Leader, big number 1 center and will be able to play with Kessel. But is it worth it for us? I would be more focusing on this Yandle and Vermette rumor(if it is indeed true) |
