I was self-proclaimed King of Internet.
Ghost is a healthy scratch tonight.

Sabres really look like they are going into Sixers full-on tank mode...
- MrBigglesworth

i don't blame them. McDavid could end up one of the best players in the world, if not the best, in only a few years.

He could also end up on the list with Owen Nolan, Alexander Daigle, and Patrick Stefan. Heck, he could even end up on the list with Roman Hamrlik, Erik Johnson, or Rick DiPietro. Not likely, but possible.

Could you imagine, w/o the CBO, he'd still have been a Flyer this season.
- Tomahawk

Good thing a CBO was used on Briere, it enabled Holmgren to go out and snatch up VL!

There's a man who could use a shotgun blast to the face. He's just offensive, not funny. The two are not interchangeable.

Ah. Congratulations! But remember: Heavy is the head that wears the crown!

Not too stunned about Ghost; the eyeball test says Berube's been hiding him at an unsustainable level for a defenseman

- AllInForFlyers

Berube probably thinks that "nerve-wracking" (as Bill put it) play Ghost made up the middle from behind his own net vs. the Kings was a big mistake by a rookie defenseman.

I'm not sure it's fair to lump Owen Nolan in with Alex Daigle and Patrick Stefan.

Owen Nolan may have under achieved for his draft selection, but he ended up with a solid career. And the argument to this is always "Look at who else was drafted that year," which I get, but also look at the disparity between the first round picks that year: John Slaney, Turner Stevenson, Mark Greig, Shawn Antoski. It's like the scouts just took a vacation that year

Patrick Stefan and Alex Daigle playing in the NHL at all was just sort of a waste of time.

Definitely possible but I would bet against it for sure.

No, you could technically have an AHL roster made up of players with no pro experience. The rule he was referring to was the veteran rule for NHL preseason games.
- jmatchett383

I beleive there is rule limiting the number of NHL veterans you can have playing in a regular or playoff AHL game.

I guess Nolan goes more into the MAF, Erik Johnson league, and DiPietro goes more into the Daigle/Stefan category.

There is. That was the rule I posted. 12 plays must have played less than a certain amount of "professional" games and one player has to have played less than a slightly higher number of "professional games." If you dress less than 18 skaters, the number goes down accordingly.

haha okay, Despite being King of Internet, I didn't wanna come off as a know-it-all, because I knew what you were getting at.

Then again, you wouldn't have made the mistake if you had any Philadelphia in you.

Daigle did score over 100 goals in the NHL. 3 time 20 goal scorer and 50 point scorer. Awful for his draft slot, but he did manage to produce a bit in the NHL.

Do you remember when Hockeyy Insiderr was pretending his true identity was Alexander Daigle?

That is true. I just glanced at his total games and saw that he didn't stick around for very long. I would still set Owen Nolan on a higher tier than Daigle and Stefan if for nothing more than longevity

Ha! That would not surprise me -- obviously, it's only two games. But I do believe that, just from watching this organization over the years, that how Ghost develops is gonna be interesting.

That was just one play. But the fact that Ghost even thought about doing it, let alone did it, instead of ripping it off the glass...I am curious to see how that works out.

Video and practice sessions would probably be quite amusing.
