How about getting the poop kicked out of him by the Pistons?

Allegedly?

NC in the 70's was no picnic for people of color.

McDavid and team Canada have lost in the U18 tourney when they were the favorite twice. Can you say that is adversity?

Crosby has one cup in 10yrs

Justin Williams has 3 in the same time frame.

ozzy has 3 cups and is never mentioned for the HOF

Became only the 10th goaltender in NHL history to achieve 400 wins on Dec 27th 2010 in a 4–3 overtime win against the Colorado Avalanche
4th all time NHL leader in win percentage (53.9%)
7th best Goals Against Average (career) of all time (2.49)"

A bit, yes. And I remember reading something that when he first got to Erie it took a bit for him to adjust, so I'm sure that will help as well.

I'm not trying to say that Eichel is better or that I'd rather have Eichel, I just think their makeup mentally is probably a bit different. That's all. For two guys that are touted as so much better than the rest of the field behind them, it's interesting to see how different their very young careers have already been.

It's probably because he seemed to have a hard time hanging onto the starting position at times over his career.

He was still a good goalie though. I think part of why he gets lost in the shuffle is because he played on very good Detroit teams that didn't need to just rely on their goaltending during those years.

Again initially IMO Eichel will look more at home because he's playing against "men" in college rather than "boys" in JRs.

Again IMO there is more of a flow(structure) in college hockey whereas in JRs there's more "sloppy" moments. It's not a knock against JR's either.

Here's the thing.

400 wins and 500 goals are the benchmarks for automatic induction.

Dave has 640 and is still waiting

It's just funny how when people talk about the great goalies from the past, somehow he never gets mentioned. I'll admit I forget about him. He quietly had a very, very good career.

His full seasons with the NYI and StL in the 3 not in Detroit were no slouch seasons. The split one in between was one to forget.

01/02 NYI 32-25-6 2.50 .910
03/04 StL 31-25-8 2.24 .910

5-2 for the other team... Honestly I don't even know if Buffalo has a game tonight or who they are playing but I'm almost positive it will be a loss.

Scores from "half-court."

Should we laugh or cry?
