What about putting LD on the LW with Gordon at C in the d-zones for sheltered learning? Then again, this would be something great to do in TC/pre-season. - ChetManly

This. I wonder how good this line will look at the 30 game mark, 50... I would still like to see a third line defensive centre brought in, move Drasaitl to the wing if you have to but give one more option for some defensive zone starts. - freelancer
By then you are hoping that others are understanding the systems better. We've already seen the top line out there at the end of games so it's only a matter of time before they start getting harder minutes consistently. |

Hender? They should just be called the DZ, or D-Line, since they are so good at defensive zone starts. |

I'm fine with simply 'the 4th line'. For once we actually have one, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves here. |

why break up the only like that is working? The middle two lines are having trouble finding themselves, and the gordon line is saving their bacon right now. The middle two lines are having difficulties because each has a player that needs to be sheltered to stop hurting the team. If the oilers are going to make a mistake and keep LD and not resolve themselves to bring in another center, then yak and LD need to be put on the same line to minimize the damage. At least that way there is only one line to protect and use sparingly. Perron - Arco - Purcell should be our second line all season long without a doubt. Perron potted 28 and purcell has 60 point seasons in the past. Arco can hold is own. Pouliot - Draisaitl - Yakapov is a devensive liability, so if we have to deal with them, at least put them on the same line and give them all the 0-zone starts to minimize the damage, or play them <10min a night if the game warrants. |

LD is staying. He has moved in with Nuge. Or Hoppers or whatever the (frank) his nickname is.
Also Yak doesn't really need to be sheltered anymore. |
