So he gets put at the bottom of the list?? How does that make any sense?

He didn't say he should be at the bottom of the list, either.

Just said he's gotta earn his way. Nothing wrong with that.

Really? Guys get placed higher on a depth chart because of draft position?

Biggs was a great OHL captain too, taken in the first round. Has he proven more than a guy like McKegg?

- TheThrill

Umm what??? when was Biggs an OHL captain?? When did he out perform Mckegg. You're example isn't exactly the same as mine.

He was at the end of the list, so yeah he did. What has McWilliam done to be placed where he was placed??

It makes more sense than putting him at the top for nothing.

Percy has shown a better game, so has Loov. Nilsson is a toughie, because he's overseas but Mac has managed to stick and become a regular, and not a detriment.

So right now, at this very second, those guys are all higher than a 2-game wonder with a pedigree

Been around, played for the team. Shown SOMETHING.

Finn might be a more talented player, but he hasn't shown anything yet

To be fair, draft position says as much about the scouts as it does about the player... He's gotta prove he was worth the pick.
- Feeling Glucky?

Im not disagreeing with that, but what has mcwilliam done to prove himself??

Biggs was never the captain of his OHL team

My bad, I thought he captained the Generals. Still, he was touted in the OHL, so the point stands.

He didn't outperform McKegg, and that's my point. Finn hasn't outperformed any of the guys I placed ahead of him... yet. Maybe he will, but he hasn't yet

See the post above. He's shown more than Finn has.

Sure, he has had more time to. Definitely. But that's my point. People are gaga over Finn when he hasn't shown or done anything of consequence yet

The Thrill of it all!

Sadly his skates don't kiss the ice blazing an NHL trail as his wrist shot blushes the post gracefully dashing aside a sigh of relief for the frightened and unprepared goaltender.

He didn't play great. He played average, and was a minus. 2 games in, its early to say either way.

Look, I get that you want him to be this top notch prospect. Eventually, i hope he gets there too... but he isn't yet.

- TheThrill

What?? Not from the stats I'm seeing.

I think Finn and Percy are pretty much the same thing. Percy has a full year of AHL on Finn and may have developed seemingly overnight, but in my opinion, if you like Percy, you'll like Finn. He's mobile, smart, composed and a good leader - everything Percy is. Finn may take a year longer to get there, but I think he's a pretty decent prospect.

I think Finn is better prospect.

Matt Finn’s dominance in the CHL in 2013-14 positions him as the best all round two-way defenseman in the Leafs system

Second year Toronto Marlies defenseman Andrew MacWilliam, and minor pro rookies Tom Nilsson and Eric Knodel, represent a second tier of Leafs prospects with potential

I'm OK with this. If Finn becomes a great prospect, then I will be stoked, because it means the Leafs will benefit.

But 2 games into his first pro season, I'm not about to toss him up to the top of the depth chart already
