That's the type of passion the Flyers need. Throwing sticks = Effort and caring

I don't think Hagg could do as well, honestly. Ghost can more or less survive because he's an above-average skater and knows what to do with the puck. Not so sure Hagg could do much more than be a passenger right now.

Like you said, Ghost has seen first-hand what he needs to work on and can now go do it. But, to me, Hagg can't really even offer what Ghost could, and would be a pretty big liability out there.

- jmatchett383

The only thing I would say that contradicts this is that Hagg has more experience playing hockey at the pro level than Ghost does. I think Hagg could handle himself fairly well as a call up, but not for a lengthy stretch, just like Ghost. They are different skill sets and I think Hagg's defensive game might be further along than Ghost's right now.

Hagg has been very good for the Phantoms , and actually was outplaying Gostisbehere, according to the Phantoms folks I talk to on twitter. I think he could easily slide up and provide good, solid play.

Bryz threw a lot of sticks and people hated him.

Dude needs to work on his upper body strength and conditioning in the off season, obviously.

Perhaps, taking away his favorite toy will be used as a motivating factor.

Every time I picture Morin throwing his stick, I think of Brick from Anchorman throwing the javelin and killing a man.

Grossmann has been playing like Grossmann always has. He's still made mistakes with the puck, which he always has but his puck handling isn't one of his strengths. For the most part his game has been good because he's always been a decent player. We're just noticing him more because of the winning streak, increased ice time in important situations and the loss in personnel.
- SuperSchennBros

I would say he's very hard to knock off the puck -- perhaps the toughest among all the Flyers D -- but his weakness is outlet passing.

who will they call up with Akeson likely out ?

Would be nice to see Cousins called up. He is dominating AHL 8pts in 6games (tied for 4th best)

He was also part of the Jeff Carter trade that got us Voracek, Coots and Cousins.

watabargain!

Hägg is a good skater in his own right; not as fast as Ghost but few are. What he has to offer than Gostisbehere doesn't is size and muscle.

Can Cousins play wing, though? I suppose they could put Cousins in 4th line center and shift Vandy to the wing.

I'd assume Jones goes from healthy scratch into the lineup.

Not a Blair Jones fan?

(If they need to bring somebody up, I'm thinking they'd go w/ Gordon or sign Powe to a contract and promote him.)

Jones tries hard, and that matters, but God bless him, it just never seems to go well when he plays multiple games anywhere he is at the NHL level

So... when are people going to realize that the "T" in OTL doesn't stand for Tie and the "L" actually stands for Loss?

"The Flyers now find themselves one game over .500."

no.

"Somehow, some way, the Flyers (4-3-2) will crawl out of a once-horrifying October riddled with land mines and injuries guaranteed at least a .500 record. They can be as many as two games over even with a victory in Tampa Bay tomorrow night."

no.

Even if you go by pts. they have 10 and have given up 12.

I'm stunned that they're getting out of October with at least 10 pts but accuracy folks, accuracy.

I know, and I was really hoping he could do it because he does work hard. But while plus/minus isn't the best indicator of any one person, a quick glance shows that in, what, maybe 15-20 minutes of ice time, Jones was on for three ES goals

First rule of the fourth line: Don't get scored on

Hopefully, this will make you very, very angry.... an overtime loss isnt really a loss. You just didnt win. Its like when your favorite soccer team loses in penalty kicks.. you didnt lose, you merely failed to advance.

Be angry for me. Please?

It's just a PR thing. It's a reasonable way to make the team look better than it actually is.
