I think we all expected bad, but (frank) me, that was BAD last night. (Trust me, being a Leafs fan I can spot a bad team). It was like second tier AHL bad. But, as you say, the intentional tanking is what the doctor ordered, and it won't feel bad when you pick McDavid.

I am not upset that the team is losing.

What I am upset with (and many others) is the team averaging 10 SHOTS against bad teams. There is no compete in this team. Something Nolan (Allegedly) was going to get out of them.

I think its kind of unfair to criticize fans for complaining. I mean, this is REALLY bad. Like Franchise worst, possibly all time NHL worst bad. Shutout in 50% of your games bad. I have to admit, I miss my Buffalo Sabres. I miss rivalry games like last night or against Montreal and Boston. The Sabres right now don't even qualify as professionals. Its like they don't exist. The are like the Washington Generals that play against the Harlem Globetrotters.

I don't necessarily think this team lacks "compete". What this team seems to lack right now is simply basic hockey sense. They look like they don't know what to do, not that they don't care.

No it's 100% fair, all I heard was TANK, TANK,TANK, TANK AWAY. That's what you are getting, regardless of what everyone thought including ME who said we won't make the playoffs but we won't TANK either. As of now, I was wrong.

As bad as Weber, Benoit, and Mezaros are it is tough to play defense on a team that registers 10 shots.

At this point, just make it entertaining. Lose 7-3, 6-2 or whatever but go out and try and score, who cares about playing solid defense when you are no threat to score goals?

The defense should pinch every time the puck enters the zone and all 3 forwards should press and forecheck. Make it exciting at least
