This team has done plenty wrong. But they have also done plenty right and I think some people lose sight of that for whatever reason. Also this team could go four and one on the trip and blow a two goal lead and lose in Arizona and people will want cappy fired. It's just how it is - Dan Petriw
Well, I missed the conversation from the last thread, but I don't think it's nitpicking or anything to be concerned with the goals against. Heck, I would expect the analytics nuts to be especially wary of goal explosions masking some underlying weaknesses.
As far as complaining about Cappy, I don't think eight games will make people say, "Oh man, thank God Cappy's our coach." Bylsma got fired and took massive criticism while winning a hell of a lot more games (and a Stanley Cup). People have been pretty consistent about Cappy regardless of wins and losses, I think.
Overall, I don't think people "lose sight" of what's going right. It's just that this board would get boring pretty fast if we all simply said, "Yeah, good game" and called it a day. Of course we're going to talk about things we'd like to see tweaked, changed, improved, etc. |

Unbelievable. Really wondering what the inspiration was to take him off? |

no kidding. Let's take the best shot from the point we've had since aucoin, and remove him from the pp after he scores 5 pp points to start the season..

Agreed. It seems only some people are allowed to say the defense needs help for this team to continue to be successful? If some people say it they are labeled as whiners while others are being objective.
I thought the point of a hockey thread was to discuss the team that the thread is about? I think a lot of times discussing the team and its play can come off as negativity. There isnt an islander fan alive not happy with our start. With that said there's nothing wrong with seeing a glaring deficient part of their play and talk about it IMO. The leafs last year had the same problem. Goaltending and kessel kept them going for a while and the defense let them down in the end. Not saying its going to happen here but wtf is so wrong about discussing it? Completely confused by this? |

LOL suck it
so was NHL.com correct and was boychuk out with visnovsky on the PP? That seems pretty interesting given we've been playing one dman there for a long time now. I kinda like that to be honest.

Just got home and happy to see its still 1-0. Hoping Halak has a great game and gets into a groove.

What a crapy goal. Can't believe that was a major penalty. |

Crap defensively. Maybe we'll score 14 goals this evening, so we can all pretend everything is still great. |

On both. Halak should have protected it with his stick or glove. |
