Hickey has been on the ice for a lot of bad goals. I don't know how "fundamentally sound" that can be seen as... - jmo16

Interesting article on what the AHL does with shootouts...
http://www.sbnation.com/n...otouts-ahl-overtime-rules - kear20
The NHL usually uses the AHL as it's guinea pig for rule changes (see: no-touch icing) so it's a safe bet that in the coming years we'll see that implemented in the NHL, likely a slightly altered version. |

Proven NHL coach is what we need if Snow fires Capuano. - Cptmjl
He kills me in his postgame when he refers to his players as "they". "They need to battle harder...they need to play within the system." He defines a line between "them" the players and the coaching staff. I want a coach that doesn't blame the players, but the team takes accountability as a unit. How bout a "we" for once.

Thats another thing I find interesting. The guy prides himself with keeping stuff "in house" yet he doesnt really. I dont think hes ever taken the heat for things that were clearly his fault ever? Plying reasoner in game one off the top of my head. 100% obviously stupid move that every person found perplexing. We lost 5-0. Wasnt reasoner a -4 that night? |

Yeah. I like it. Shootouts are an atrocious way of deciding a game.
I used to go to the Can/Am tournaments up in Lake Placid in high school. One year we won gold in 3 OT's and you lose a player as each OT period goes on. 1st OT was 4v4, 2nd was 3v3, and finally we won in the 3rd with 2v2 on an Olympic sheet of ice. |

Imagine the NBA deciding a game with a 3pt contest or baseball deciding a game with a home run contest? It's a joke |

It was insane. From a nostalgia POV...it was pretty damn cool winning on the '80 rink. |

As soon as Bailey or Grabner return we need to see Conacher removed from that line and I'd actually waive him. His instincts seem to be a lot slower than most, he's always bumping into his linemates which tells me he's having a difficult time reading them and the play on the ice. He's also been bad defensively. Really don't see what he's brought that makes him worth keeping. It's like pm Bouchard only 6 inches shorter. |
