Don't laugh, either: Del Zotto led the Flyers in ice time and earned every minute -- he played a Doughty-like 26-plus

One negative: Ghost might need to head back soon. He needs to get a little stronger and have the pro game slow down for him just a little bit more

- AllInForFlyers

Yeah, Gostisbehere is still showing flashes of his skills, but the warts are definitely showing. He's still holding his own for the most part, but I worry he's going to end up getting fewer minutes if he struggles, and he just needs to play.

2-0 with Gostisbehere in the lineup.
2-0 this season when VandeVelde ends up on the scoresheet.

1-0 when I get almost maybe a decently ok grade on the hardest exam of the year in one of the top 2 hardest classes at this school

So I was lucky enough to go to the game tonight and sit in a superbox at center ice..Talk about the way to watch a live hockey game..Things i saw...

1. Voracek has taken his game to another level and is tied for 2 in league scoring with 13 points in 9 games. Watching him live he is by far the most dynamic and powerful skater on the Flyers. Additionally their were a few shifts where he basically just dominated and pretty much said ,"here I am come with the puck, try and take it from me as i drive to the net"

2. Giroux got hammered a few times and what I love about him is when he does you see him get mad..

3. Quick is so good down low.

10 shots on goal tonight against that Leafs steel curtain defense. They might as well start selling the McDavid jerseys now.

You've gotta think Josh Gorges wants out, at a minimum. He could be an interesting chip for a mid-range contender

MDZ: Surprised, happy but surprised

Ghost: not surprised at all 172 lbs and basically no pro experience rarely works well on D. Kid has talent, but he MUST get stronger to be any more than a pp specialist in the NHL.

I really hope Raffl can keep this up. If he does, they will difficult to beat. One of the Flyers biggest issues since they traded JVR is they haven't found a consistent linemate for Giroux and Voracek (or one worthy of playing on the top line). If Raffl is the answer to that question and he's a true legitimate top line LW, the Flyers might have struck gold with him. How much pressure does that take off of Brayden Schenn and not have to force him into that LW spot due to the hole on the top line? He is obviously much better and much more comfortable at his natural center position, the position he's played his whole professional career. Not to mention the added benefit of all the room Wayne Simmonds gives him. When Vinny comes back, I think he'll make that line an awesome second line to be reckoned with. With Couturier shutting down the opposing team's top centers on a nightly basis (plus being on pace to having his best season offensively by far), the Flyers are going to be a tough team to beat. But back to my original point about Raffl; him filling that void gives not only the top line consistency and time to stay together for multiple games and develop chemistry, but it gives the second and third lines those things as well. It also allows everybody to know their roles now instead of the consistent changing of roles and linemates. Raffl's consistent elite play affects the entire lineup so many different positive ways. I hope he can keep this up because I think it puts their forwards over the top.

I'm going to disagree with you on some degree here. I think he can be a weapon. Kid's fast as lightening. I think he can be one of those guys you need on the back end that captains a PP, puts up 50 40-50 points, and is more or less unnoticeable in his Dzone (in the good way)

Definitely needs more AHL seasoning though. I think we all knew that. Hell I'll bet you even he knows that!

I think he can, but it might not be fast -- developing man strength takes time. I had the same frame he does at his age, and while I don't have the kind of access to professional trainers those guys do, I did/do take care of myself reasonably well, especially at that age

Obviously, he's not me. But there's a difference between gaining weight and gaining strength, and it might be a little longer than the average person realizes

For example, I saw Jeff Carter straight-up blow Luke Schenn off a 50-50 puck tonight

Schenn's heavier than Carter. Carter's a lean guy, but he hit Schenn with some of that rangy "man strength" that only time can develop
