JQ may be the best goalie in the world... but hes a big (frank)in baby when he losses. I hate it.
- Deadmau55

Yeah lotta respect lost for that tirade. He stopped the puck but couldn't stop himself. Too bad.

Tomorrow we can resume talking about how bad the organization is. For now, 10 hour reprieve.

Flyers could have scored a ton in this game. Quick made at least 5 stops that were goals on most other netminders.

It's clear that Quick's own momentum is what carries him into the net.
- MJL

I'm not exactly sure what the rule is. I know it doesn't matter, but a goal like that should not count. A player shouldn't be allowed to barge into a goalie in his crease like that.

Contact is not contact. Ever hear of incidental contact?
- MJL

Correct.

The rule states if the attacking player, after having made a reasonable effort to avoid contact, makes contact with the goalkeeper at the time a goal is scored, it's a good goal.

Wow, I am surprised. But they worked hard and Razor stole 2 points. I hope they can play tough and tight until our "#1 and #2 D" come back.

You can get away with these a few times in the regular season but not in a series.

What are you talking about? Schenn came in on Quick and from in tight fired a shot as his skates braked to the right, avoiding Quick.

Yeah, and I've seen the call go the other way many, many times. I think it's fair to say it is a questionable call.

I dont think Razor stole poop. Flyers earned this one, what did they get away with besides beating them?

they really battled the entire game, very determined to win the little puck battles, it was very noticeable. great effort up and down the line up

but that first period they were absolutely flying, connecting on passes, tons of chances

No he didn't avoid Quick. He initiated the contact well into the crease. I don't think goals like that should count.

Well except that isn't what happened. Think about this. The ruling on the ice, was no goal. So what has to happen for that call to be overturned? It has to be conclusive. And what did the ref say when he made the announcement that the goal counted? That the puck was over the line, before any contact was made. Schenn did not interfere with Quick making the save. And he barely touched Quick, let alone barged into him. And the contact was incidental.

The puck was loose. Schenn has every bit of the same right to poke at it as Quick does to cover it. He lost track of his surrounding gs trying to cover it and slid into the net. That's on him, not Schenn even with the tiny bit of contact.

That is flat out a goal. No reason for it not to be a goal.
- MJL

don't you love how the ref behind the net, who had absolutely zero chance of seeing what actually happened waited 5 seconds to wave no goal. this is why i hate referees.
