Yes, I agree. He seems like a horrible person. I would release him if I was their GM. Not sure the league can do anything with out the DA filing charges.

People can claim anything in a personal lawsuit.

It's just odd that he's already been arrested and charged before for this stuff, and the latest list of allegations is more shocking than anything that's come out of the Voynov thing... yet the league is busy distancing themselves from VV, but Varly's sitting pretty in net.

As long as it's nowhere near the Orange Julius, we're good.

No it doesn't imply anything. It implies the player is injured and will be out of the lineup for at least 10 games and 24 days. That is the rule.

Nice! Can't wait until Pronger comes back and solidifies this Flyers defense!

One can hope its in front of Yankee Candle. Anything to mitigate the smell of those candles.

If that's the case, and I do think that is correct, why can't the Kings call a player up?
- MJL

They would be over the cap. Simple. Cut and dried. After 1 game they can apply for temporary cap exemption, according to Katie Strang of ESPN.

Their bitching about it now, though, does make their earlier endorsement of the NHL suspension ring hollow.
- bradleyc4

Of course, now they are actually forced to play shorthanded.

Gaborik, Kopitar, Voynov, and Lewis all out.

Not going to find a better day to take on the Kings.

Not their fault. How were they supposed to know wife beating was bad?

There ya go, they can LTIR Gaborik, then they can call somebody up. No fuss, no muss within rules.

in light of recent events in the worls of sports, the general consensus for athletes seems to be "guilty until proven innocent"

maybe we can get a 2-for-1 special and pick up Varly and Voynov

Should have not been so close to the cap, then.

It sucks for them, I get it. But the CBA is pretty cut and dried here.

Varlamov had the charges dropped, although there's now a civil suit.

If you say cut and dried one more time I'm going to start thinking you're a hair stylist.

The rules need to be changed so that guys like Penner get much more than just an instigator when starting a fight after a clean hit.
