I'll bet you $3 he doesn't.
- jmatchett383

Give me odds. He scores .4 goals per game. I give you $2 if he doesn't. You give me $5 if he does

Wow... It probably cost 125 for food and parking alone at a Leaf game. I wish I could go to games in Philly!

They're playing w/ 19 guys... w/ the Voynov suspension, they don't have the space to recall anyone.
- Tomahawk

So every time a guy gets nicked up and isn't put on IR, they have to play a man short?

Supposedly it's just for this game... if Kopitar's still out next game, they can 'emergency recall' somebody.

I think he's saying they should get the cap relief while the league suspends him for off-ice reasons.
- jmatchett383

Maybe more about the suspension counting against the cap.
-Tomahawk

I think he should count against the cap and as a contract slot.

He's playing the Flyers' defense as it is currently constructed. I think straight odds are more than fair.

It's fairly expensive (for a good cause) and the lines are pretty long. If you have one thing you really want to do, get there early to do it, and then enjoy just walking around the rest of the time.
- jmatchett383

I've been there many times over the years. The players used to be far more accessible. This is good advice. I would also add, don't burn yourself out, stay until the end. There are all kinds of opportunities to meet some of the current players and a ton of access to past players who are working the carnival and are happy for the attention and to spend some time with people as things are breaking up.

I feel he's always played better at center. He's been thrown from center to wing his entire career and he's played most of his career with 5v5 anchors, Briere and VL.

Once he got away from VL last year, his production increased on a line with Hartnell and Simmonds or Raffl and Simmonds. He became a positive possession player and was able to be deployed in more situations.

On top of it all, Berube has made it abundantly clear that he does not think highly of Schenn. Schenn never gets the benefit of the doubt with this coaching staff like many other players do. The staff also bends over backwards to try and find the perfect spot for VL, but will just throw Schenn in any spot that's convenient.

- PhillySportsGuy

I'm not going to debate the first part, other then you know I disagree with that.

The latter part about Berube not thinking highly of Schenn is patently false. When Schenn was involved, up on his skates and playing well, Berube rewarded him with 20 minutes of icetime in back to back games. When he wasn't playing well, his icetime and role reflected that.

It's time to stop making excuse after excuse for B Schenn. And start basing it on the merits of his own play.

Why should the team have to suffer for his off-ice actions? He had no prior history (at least publicly known) and it wasn't something that happened while directly representing the Kings (was not a team-related event when it happened).

Schenn is extremely average in all facets. Agreed.
- GOA88

I'm not ready to give up on Schenn just yet, but I honestly think that Laughton is going to surpass Schenn in the not too distant future.

Kind of why I would be ok with trading Schenn now while he still has value, to see what return we could get.

Under these standards, I have no idea how Varly is playing right now.

These aren't really public knowledge. I'm a former STH so my ticket guy knows why I'm not anymore (paying for two teams for my son) and he shoots me out the STH offers on a regular basis. You have to call a ticket rep to get the deals.

I don't understand how he played at the time but at this point there were no charges filed so why wouldn't he be playing?

So he's basically saying Voynov should be allowed to play?
- PhillySportsGuy

No, he's saying the team should get cap relief for Voynov.

I've had season tickets since 2009, and I'm pretty pissed off at how the Flyers are treating us. First, they took off the ticket marketplace, the easiest and safest way to move extra tickets. Then they took away the ticket share where you can share a handful of tickets. Now, they're offering seating at below STH price. I should just cancel my season tix and buy individual tickets from now on, but I love my seat.

I don't really get trading him. If they don't think he can ever become a staple in the top 6 then ok...trade him. I think they're better off served getting another full year of analysis in on him. I don't think he's worth all that much right now, and he won't fetch the dman we need

If he can bring back a young LW that they believe is a better fit, then by all means

Nah, it's better than pretty good. Probably has the best wrister on this team after G and Vinny. He just doesn't get put in a position to use it much.
- Tomahawk

This sounds like a fun discussion. I'd be interested to see where people rank the Flyers top 10 forwards in terms of their wristers. Cuz I feel like Matt Read and Coots make a good case for the top five.

Who here has gone to the Carnival? Thoughts? Thinking about making the drive down but would like to hear any input first thanks

It's a good time and a great cause, as long as you have some coin to burn.

While I agree that Schenn alone won't get the top defenseman that the team needs, I disagree with stating that he's not worth all that much right now. He's a good young player.
