Myers hasn't struggled since his Calder season, he just never became a Norris candidate like it looked like he would be.

He has one bad year which was the lockout season.

Whoever is trading or trying to trade for him isn't trading for a "struggling" player. They are getting a bona fide top 4 defensemen with an incredibly high ceiling

We have as a team continued to get worse every year since he's been here. Went from a division winner to basement team during a crucial stretch in his development.

Whoever gets him (If he's moved which I seriously doubt right now) will be pleasantly surprised IMO

I guess I'm just really surprised by all the Myers trade rumors (and moreso by the undervaluing of him)... he has been compared to Chara his entire career and, if it does indeed take d-men of their stature so long to develop, why would the Sabres shoot themselves in the foot and give up on him now?

I'm not going to sit here and make off-the-wall trade requests or anything like that, not my job or place... I just believe that all 30 NHL GM's have to think about Chara and the Islanders->Ottawa->Boston saga every time they look at #57.

The Sabres are not going to be a contending team for AT LEAST a few more seasons so if GMTM's plans go accordingly wouldn't we want a ~27-year-old Tyler Myers on that team?

This would be a good solid hockey trade. Both teams get a valuable asset that they are lacking. Sounds like a win win to me. But screw Dallas. We could use him here!

Olli Maatta will undergo surgery next week to remove a tumor in his neck, which could be low grade Thyroid Cancer. He's been cleared to play until the surgery, and will miss about 4 weeks after it.

I love Ristolainen, but right now he's nowhere near as good. I know he's incredibly young, but look at what Myers did at that age.
