Is that what you say to the bowl every morning. Sorry, every THIRD morning.

In all seriousness, what IS the best start in NHL history?

I remember a time a certain blue and white team laid it out in 93-94. But the Sabres put up a better one with an asterix I think, they had the shoot out to win instead of tie.

Too bad that was all ruined when Gretzky put Gilmour out of Game 7 of the finals with a vicious overtime high stick that went uncalled, literally handing the Kings the Stanley Cup that should have been yours.

I realize it's a big joke. LOL Leaf fans so upset of something that could have happened to anybody. Blah blah blah. In all honesty, did you watch game 6? It was probably the best game ANY captain could ever had have. Clark took this team on his shoulders and single handedly put them in the position to make it to the final when all was lost. Then, having Gretz high stick and draw blood, in OT, which at the time was an immediate ejection it was in the cards. But it was missed. And the player who should have been, by rights, out of the game scores the goal mere minutes later. I cried when I was a kid. I wasn't a cynic back then. But even then I knew something wasn't right.

My favourite part of this whole beautiful thing is people's complete willful denial of the existence of Patrick Roy.

Patrick Roy caused Gretzky to not get a penalty? I don't get this.

The fact that none of it mattered. Gretzky couldn't beat Roy in 1994 and neither would the Leafs have.

Leafs have the record for most wins to start the season. But Buffalo might have one up with a shoot out win.
