I know the Myers talks been going in circles but love him or hate him I think you gotta back Murray's play to ask big.

Just looked back at the Dion Phaneuf trade, he didn't turn into a #1 but he became good enough to make calgary look hilariously bad in that trade. I suspect that the same would be possible for Myers on a team like Anaheim/Detroit/Dallas, even if you believe he's not a top pairing guy.

can't understand why there's all this talk of trading him...imo, he'll be the eldest of our young d-corps (gorges being the vet,) and if he tops out as a #3/2, his cap-hit's pretty good/great deal moving forward

If Myers continues to play like he did on the West Coast trip then don't deal him.

I don't know, maybe TM thinks he can get a nice haul for him while he has a deep young D corp to build with. Also, he might think that his value will go down next year, the year before his NTC kicks in. Teams will know that if the Sabres want to deal him they will have to deal him then.

Agreed, no NEED to trade him unless the return dictates it.
Keep him and lock him in with a solid defender and they themselves a very solid pairing.

Probably depends on the prospect/pick. I mean if carolina wanted to give up lindholm and their 1st, it'd be pretty tough to say no.

But this team isn't going to make the playoffs let alone contend at least for the next 3 years. If they get NHL ready players they should be young ready ones like 22-23. Older ones and they'll be close to UFA depending on their contract status by the time they make the playoffs.

On a good to great team Myers would still fall into the 3D range until he starts to pick up his offensive production. He had a very good West Coast trip, let's see if he keeps it up.

Well thank god for the third down pass play . We should have thrown on first and caught them cheating . This game should have been over long ago if not for the play calling. Thank god for the defense and all the turnovers.. The stats for this game are not going to be pretty in spite of the score . Sorry for the rant . Just so frustrating watching Hackett tie the hands of the offense . Let them play coach !
