That's doesn't explain why his play time have decreased. If the coach was happy with his play and progression, he would give him more time, like MT does with Gally in Mtl, don't you think? - fidopro
If is was that simple then yes I would agree with you but rarely is anything that simple. Yak has played on all the lines throughout the season at points and he is also not a penalty killer at all so if there are games where the Oilers take a boat load of penalities for example, his ice time is going to be very low and so on. Also I would like to mention the comparison in points, although both players have very similar point totals, the quality of players that Yak played with compared to what Gally played with are worlds apart until this season. Yak put points up playing with plugs and goons last season. |

Like Galchenyuk. Got it.
For the second part, you said yourself Yak played on all lines throughout the season, so I guess he played, at least for a few games, with Hall and RNH, or with Perron? Pff, all plugs I'll give you that one.
As for Gally, he started last year with Eller and Gallagher, and than Eller and another plug as you say when Gallagher went up to the 1st line.
So as you can see, there are many excuses, not all fit the bill. |

All lines this season.
Goons and plugs last season. He played with Ryan Smyth, Ryan Jones, Luke Gazdic, etc...big difference from Eller and Gallagher
Is that clear enough for you? And the second you compared Hall, RNH and Perron to plugs, you lost all credibility so therefore I will no longer reply to anything you type here. |

Do Sabres fans really think Eberle for Myers is not enough? Because I would guess that most Oiler fans feel exactly the opposite. I guess this is the proof that fans overvalue their own players. |

Myers has had like1 good season, yes he's big, but Jesus, so Is Hal Gill.
He's good but the way he is valued by some of this talk is asinine. He's proved not much in the last few years except he can get injured, why is he worth a boatload? Potential stops counting after a few full NHL seasons. |

I would prefer not to trade Myers atm. We got other slugs we should move first (i.e. Hodgson, Stafford, Stewart). Eberle for Myers is a bit interesting though. |

If Oilers are interested in getting anything ATM, it is either a 2nd line center or a top 2 defenceman or BOTH!
Possible assets they have that they would want to dispose is Petry and 1st rounders.
I can only see: (Oilers and Flyers)
L. Schenn (3.6mill) + B. Schenn (2.5mill) + B. Coburn (4.5mill)( Net cap gain/loss= -1.6 mill)
or
L.Schenn (3.6mill) + B.Schenn (2.5mill) + W. Simmonds (4mill)(Net Cap gain/loss= -1.1mill)
for
Jeff Petry (3.1mill) + Musil + 2nd Rounder (2015) + Eberle (6mill)(Net cap gain/loss= +1.6/1.1mill)
or
Jeff Petry (3.1mill) + Musil + 1st Rounder (2015) + Eberle (6mill)(Net cap gain/loss= +1.6/1.1mill)
(I think the 1st rounder is a little bit of an overpayment though)
I still doubt this trade would work since Eberle is Hall's right hand man.
Both teams would benefit
Oilers = In the Short run
Flyers = In the Long run
Plus, it allows some room for the Flyers as well.
What are your opinions? IMO, I think it balances out both teams needs and wants. |

It means Sabres fans are nuts and will either keep Myers or have the Luongo after effect.

I am looking for a packaged overpayment deal like the Miller/Ott trade. Myers + Stewart to Anaheim for Hampus Lindholm, Nick Ritchie, 1st, and whatever salary throw in Player in need to take back. Otherwise, I don't need to trade him. - Mathwil3
What????
Hahahagagaga.
So they're going to pay a huge price to downgrade their d? |

Defenseman are just worth more right now. Especially ones that can play 30 minutes a night and play power play and PK. Doesn't take much to figure that out, but I guess it does - Mathwil3

Getting a true number 1 goalie and some defensemen (top 2)? Strop drafting smalls forwards who always goes down with an injury?
And yes, they may need to move Eberle or Yak. - deadpoulet
